It cannot be said that Susana and Rebeca have a background that is consistent with being musicians - one a customising fashion designer and the other a geneticist - not exactly a typical start to a career in music. But they have always shared a great passion for it since before meeting as students in Madrid where they had weekend jobs in the city's club scene. Immediately recognising their strong similarities they became best of friends.
Their degrees were almost complete and after years of enjoying so many DJ's sets it was time to try a more direct approach to the music they love. With more time on their hands they decided that they should be the DJ. Why not?
As soon as they collected enough records they started playing very informally at small events around the city: fashion clothing stores; private parties; expositions etc..
THE UNDERGROUND CAN ALSO BE CHIC.
Their first big opportunity came out of nowhere when they began running a little club on Sunday nights. It was autumn 2004. Methodically and meticulously taking care of every single detail from the graphics to the R.R.P.P team, and, of course, the music, they found a home. They were now the resident DJ's.
What they managed to create and nurture was a very special club with a unique atmosphere. In that little dark basement with red velvet curtains these two chicks found the perfect space to show that the "underground" could also be chic. So logically the night was christened LeChic and it is that name that they have taken in homage.
GETTING SERIOUS.
Within a year LeChic had gained a high enough profile to share the stage with some of the most important names in the capital giving them the perfect platform to launch their style further a field.
Soon they were being asked to play at the most prominent festivals in the country: Sonar and Bennicassim, as well as playing at some important clubs in Madrid, Barcelona, and other cities....
"LADIES, I WOULD LOVE YOU TO JOIN THE FAMILY...."
Then, they were invited by DJHell to play at the well known Sonar closing party that he organizes (“Hell & friends”)…... The very next day the Gigolo capo told them: “Ladies, I would love you to join the family”….
From now on a new stage started…..

LE CHIC....LE MIX
January 2008: “le Mix” is released on Gigolo Records, reference number 221. This DJ set is just a walk through the last two decades of electronic music with the only purpose of rescuing tracks that still deserve to be listened, no matter label or date of publication, finding as well unreleased ones. It doesn..t mean to be an electro or techno or minimal set …. No style in particular…… Its just a sample of what you might find in their recordbags….
This project gets very good critics from well-known press and not only in Spain:

Nowdays le Chic is involved in several projects with different Spanish artist. At the same time, they are getting ready for future productions on their own.
LeChic plays electro, techno, minimal or acid, old or new. They are always open to change their style subtly to reflect what each crowd would enjoy the most. But whether it's softer, more uplifting, slower, harder, darker or faster it is always LeChic.
