Best when the volume Knob is turned up to ear-bleeding levels, Kill City defectors mish-mash of body-shaking rhythms, killer-synths and No days off attitude is sending rabid kids nuts round your way.
Hailing from Kildare's Funkier depths, the four piece have been preaching their 24 hour party people message to the masses for just over three years, and have gained an ever-growing reputation for their blistering live performances.
The band released their debut album 'Mutiny Sounds' in 2007 to great critical aclaim. Having recently been described by NME as "unmissable", they received great plaudits for their performance at the 2008 Oxegen festival.
Kcd's are currently recording new tracks for their 2nd studio album due for release in September 2009.

Good People say good things…
On the first two singles ‘So Lo’ and ‘Messed up’
“Their debut single ‘Messed Up’ boasts a nice combination of rumbling baas and weird effects, overlaid with a tune so infectious it could require hospitalisation” Hotpress
“Stand out track is definitely 'Born Again Kitchen'. This is not a foot-tapper but a full body shaking funk-tastic beat-filled tune. Quality” Connected Magazine
“If debut single 'So Lo' screamed Happy Mondays with it's baggy e-fulled edge, the recently released follow-up 'Messed Up' is the sinister come-down, layered with psychotic synths and blood soaked undertones while an unruly of a beat punches it's way through." NME
”Kill City Defectors who make you feel good guitar bands are back, and who also remind you what the volume knob on you CD player is for” Hotpress
“Two tracks, both highly infectious. There's no known cure, so just succumb.” Hotpress
“ The 'Messed Up' video has the visual and musical moments expertly etched to leave a permanent imprint in your mind and a beat quirky enough to get your feet permanently 'Tangoed' (a pun most Europeans should get).Their debut album is also full of classic funked up indie riffs and synths that should even give most cynically lazy folk an inexplicable urge to move."

On Mutiny Sounds...
“The funky Spirit of the 70’s burns through the veins of Kildare newcomers Kill City Defectors. Blending choppy guitars, half-rapped vocals and the slinkiest drumming this side of the Bee Gees tribute night, their debut feels like a perfectly preserved time capsule from the era of fuzzy sideburns and wide denim. Not that they’re entirely in thrall to nostalgia: riding on LCD Soundsystem-tinged bleeps, Messed up is a pristine slice of NYC style discoid punk whilst So Lo cleverly juxtaposes industrial riffs and chill-lounge tempos. But the albums defining track Toe To Toe, is also the most derivative: with it’s devilish groove and steamy licks, it suggests the theme from Shaft recorded by early Sonic Youth. For those ready to get their funk on, Kill City Defectors are more than happy to cater for your needs”. 4 out of 5 stars **** The Metro
"Kildare's funk foursome finally get around to releasing something substantial following a couple of excellent P's. Fortunately, the album doesn't disappoint. It features beefed-up versions of formerly released tracks - 'Messed Up', 'So Lo' and 'Toe To Toe' among them - each giving just enough kick up the arse to make them sound fresher than before. There are also a slew of new tracks, including the driving opener 'Your Mutiny'. The trademark fat basslines, congas, keyboard noodles and all that other good shit are present in spades - play it loud, annoy the neighbors. They'll thank you for it". 5 out of 5 Stars ***** Connected Magazine.
"Kildare’s rock ‘n’ roll troubadours are versed in slinky basslines, funky rhythms and percussive swagger. Mutiny Sounds bursts out of the speakers with non-stop infectious tunes". Nialler9.com (Irish music blog of the year)
"DURING the opening chords of Kill City Defector's first song on the launch night of this record a brawl broke out in Eamonn Doran's in Temple Bar. The band played on. It's that raucous line between dancing and scrapping that KCD walk. Here, they've transferred their frantic live performances onto a debut album. Although there's a slight dependence on similar hook structures, more than occasionally KCD break out and come up with a sinister sonic surprise, notably on the spooky 'Black Sheep', all twisted synths and lyrics that speak of excess. Drunken, rowdy, funky: all in all, it's a pretty rocking record" Download: 'Your Mutiny', 'Black Sheep', 'So Lo' 3 out of 5 stars *** UM The Sunday Tribune
"I'll hand you over to our guest IMRO correspondent BP Fenton-D'Arcy: Young Kildare hopefuls Killer City Deflections cook up a storm with their debut release which is certainly causing a stir on the vibrant Irish live scene as they prepare to take on the world with their unusual mix of both rock and dance influences. They sound at times like a jizzed-up Grand National but let's hope our boys fare better than those unheard of has-been Brit fuckos! 69% Mongrel Magazine.
""Kill City Defectors, debut album Mutiny Sounds has been gathering more fans with every day of its existence and seen this Kildare act rightly held up as one of the most innovative and attention-grabbing bands on the national scene". Killkenny music.com

“Unmissable” NME
“ Disorganised and dishevelled in appearance they are notably diligent and direct in output, with a bag of mixed, danger-disco delights that keep the dolly mixture crowd bopping without pause” In Dublin Magazine
“Their rhythm section is is one of the more interesting in the country at the moment” Hotpress
“Remember the name and prepare to get Defected” NME
“Gig Highlight: The tunes, the tunes. Any band who can delight fans and wandering strangers alike must be worth something in the entertainment stakes” In Dublin Magazine

“"KCD can certainly cut it live. There's an energy between the group that you can't really pin point, it's as if there's constantly a private joke they don't want you to know. A band that's armed with possibly the sexiest bassist in the business and a percussionist you can't help but watch - these guys could be intriguing to the deaf. Add that plus a voice that's repetitively seducing your brain into telling your body to move and I'll dare anyone to stay still watching the Kill City Defectors." Connected.ie - Aug 2008
