I'm into movies and film, particularly art house and oriental films, although stick me in front of some crap like Sleepless In Seattle and it's more than likely I'll still be perfectly happy. I'm very much into music and never go more than 12 hours without listening to music. You can see the bands/artists I like in 'Music' and as you can see I'm interested in a very wide variety of music from pop to rock to prog. metal to death and black metal. I'm also interested in painting and art in general, my favourite artist being Jackson Pollock. I also love design, advertising, and creating my own design work on my MacBook Pro at home or on the computers at college or wherever. I'm a fun, optimistic guy, but I can get very easily depressed, but I'll probably display a wide variety of emotions on here. I am now also into 40's-50's patterns and wall-paper, as well as Nordic modern design, such as that of Alvar Aalto and Verner Panton.

About me: "The main purpose of my work is to provoke people into using their imagination."
- Verner Panton.
My name's Steve and I'm a 23 year old Graphic Artist. I currently reside in the UK where I am taking everything I can from this small, but charming country. I have a girlfriend called Eve who's Finnish, whom I live with, with our cat and general Queen Bitch, MJ. I'm currently in the process of starting up my own freelance graphic design / illustration company, known tentatively as Honey And The Moon, after the beautiful Joseph Arthur song. Ideally, and what I do best right now is designing CD covers/inlays/promotional material for anyone who loves what I do and would like a piece of it on something that they've worked hard on and given their best to.
Here's the way I see things...
Say you're a musician who has worked long and hard in the studio, picking and perfecting your current work of art...its good to know that what it's released you're going to have a piece of work that you're satisfied with throughout...you want it to be perfect, you want it to be produced just right and you want it to sweep people off their feet and make people stand up and pay attention...
I'm just like you with my work.
In my opinion, as a designer, if I do not create a piece of work that suits and matches what I'm packaging, both in feeling, mood and emotion, then as a designer I've failed. And I don't like to fail, nor do I fail very often. I put my soul into what I do, I love what I do and I feel that will reflect on your material if you use my work with yours. I want my piece to be as perfect as yours is.
My favourite designer is Travis Smith who has designed and created the Opeth sleeves, Katatonia sleeves etc. although I have a more illustrated style, I still find his work highly impressive. I try not to look at work in my own 'field' very much.
Do you know that Tori Amos doesn't listen to music for a whole year before she writes and records an album? I have a similar view on things.
Some examples of my work can be found within my blog and in my user-pictures. You may be thinking to yourself that if this guy only has a MySpace profile then he can't be very professional. Rest assured, a website is on the way and many more examples of what I can do are too.
If you are interested in me creating anything for you, whether you are a band, a musician, or anyone interested in a piece of my work, or would like me to produce a new piece, let me know. I try to be as quick as I can when I create something, but I always like to keep a certain level of quality in what I do, so you an feel that I' ve created something you're proud to house your album within. Plus I'm not snob, and I take suggestions and criticisms very well, so feel free to express yourself with me. Money isn't my main concern right now, as it's good to put a lot of good work into your portfolio. I may charge for work, depending on circumstances though. I'm all for people being independent and going out there on their own without a label backing them up and for those I offer a reduced rate. I might even sell copies of my current pieces for the right price (which wouldn't be a lot) for you to put on your wall, above your toilet...or wherever you'd want it. If you're interested in any of my current pieces of work, which are located in my blog or user pictures, please see the user pictures section as they now have very reasonable prices ranging from $150 up to $500. With this price you do get the image fully customisable by myself (or someone else if you do wish), resized and your name/band/book title added in a font/handwritten font etc.

These surroundings look disintegrated But our minds remain open To the things we hold inside And won't let free into the everyday world.
Our branches can be so lifeless Our sap can be so stubborn But our leaves always grow back Our trees look so beautiful.

Who I'd like to meet: Friends in general, both male and female, black or white (if that's how you prefer to put it), gay, straight...anyone basically. Especially musicians who write gorgeous music. Oh and Joe Purdy...brilliant singer-songwriter:
You hit the nail on the head with Nazi thing, and also about everything not being black and white. But yes it is in relation to the Iraq war, not so much an anti war piece, but just a war piece
Hope all's well with you and that you're all ready for Christmas. I have also added two new songs to my page - and they are now all available to be addded.
Have a wonderful wonderful Christmas and all the very best for the coming year!
Again thanks for the comment I actually believe you could be an art critic or something. Very powerful words my friend. I hope you have a great time in Finland, I have don't doubt that it is just what you need right now. See you soon, hopefully still need to meet up at some point and do impressions of Rob etc etc
Your comment kept me glued to my screen for the 15 minutes it took me to read it, but I really do appreciate this comment and to me is the sign of a friend that is genuinely interested and appreciative of what I do, which means a lot. I can't thank you enough for how this made me feel. A piece which I thought to be so simplistic, you have shown me holds great depth. Thank you mate
