  • HOUNDSds

    Dear People of Lowtide,

HOUNDSds' debut EP, The Technology of Love, is available on bandcamp:
It's name-your-own-price, and there's no minimum, so it's (kinda) free.

  • Bio

Good music evokes something from within - something from the pit of the stomach, that rises uncontrollably and effortlessly. Guitars and drums and bass guitars can be exceptionally powerful tools when used the right way - with passion, balance and an innovative approach. When it all comes together, you have the recipe for live moments which make you stop dead still, and let an aural wave wash over you, bringing on that powerful physical sensation. Lowtide's music transcends genre. They're deeper than just dream pop. They're more moving than just shoegaze. They're more accessible than just space rock. They're on a journey of their own. Originally the solo workings of Gabriel Lewis, Three Month Sunset cautiously awoke in 2005. 2007 saw Gabriel win www.ainr.com's Artist In Residency competition (judged by Sigur Rós, Flood and Alan Moulder). Now as Lowtide, the band's sound has since evolved from a single ambient, soaring, textured guitar into the band's current, larger, configuration. Lewis' guitar remains collectively transmitted by way of several amplifiers but is now framed by Lucy Buckeridge, Anton Jakovljevic (The Morning After Girls) and Giles Simon (The Sun Blindness). This addition of drums, dual bass and female/male vocals further emphasise the original dynamics, but also widen the aural spectrum. In 2010, the band have released an EP (You Are My Good Light) and have played with the likes of A Place To Bury Strangers, Steve Kilbey (The Church) & Ricky Maymi (Brian Jonestown Massacre). Lowtide also travelled to New Zealand where they played two sets at the wonderful Campus a Low Hum Festival in February 2011. ..."It has been quite a while since I was entirely transfixed by a band" - www.fasterlouder.com.au... ..."Their lush dream pop sounds like Beach House put through a shoegaze blender" - www.fasterlouder.com.au...
