"Maka" is Jamaican Creole for thorny and prickly. Makasound is a label which
intends to issue and reissue roots reggae albums that are thorny, prickly,
sharp, in short, real crackers! Whether or not they have already been
produced, Makasound will release them for you...
In the main, original albums once lost in the labyrinthine den of Jamaican
music.
Because to that, Makasound wants to pay due tribute.
From this specialization, Makasound widened his musical spectrum to
different colors.
In 2005 Makasound gave birth to two new collections: Inna De Yard for the
acoustic recording sessions in Jamaica and Black Eye for new and cross-over
productions, out of the sole reggae music sphere.
In 2006, Makasound kept on exploring and revealing music made with the heart
and soul and added a forth collection "Makafresh" for new reggae
productions.
In 2008 Makasound also participated in the launching of the new label Chapa
Blues and did release first Victor Démé's album.
Ready for 2009
