Manic Panic Hair Salon of Highland Park California is open Tus- Fri 11am-7pm/ Sat & Sun 11am-4PM It is located at 5035 York Blvd, Los Angeles CA 90042 in the Highland Park section of Northeast LA know as the York Valley. The Original Manic Panic Punk Rock Clothing store was opened by Tish & Snooky on St Mark's Place in NYC on 7/7/77. It quickly became the place to shop for everybody that was anybody in the original 70's NY Punk Scene. The New Highland Park Salon is owned & run by John & Laura Carlucci (Of The Beat Killers)in partnership with Tish & Snooky tm. Aside from playing the combo organ in the Beat Killers, Laura is an accomplished stylist, specializing in Rock N Roll Hair. She has managed three Salon's previously and is equally good with men & woman's haircuts and color. John will help manage the Salon. He currently works in management at Warner Bros Film studios & plays Bass in The Beat Killers. He previously worked in Salon Management for Vidal Sassoon. John Carlucci played bass in a band with Tish & Snooky in 1976 called "The Dropouts" also in the band was John's High School Buddy, Joe Katz who went on to play with The Student Teachers. The Dropouts were an early C.B.G.B's/ Max's Kansas City Band. The salon sells a full line of Manic Panic Hair Products, shampoo, styling gels, Pomade, etc. There is waxing & facials avialable. There is a retail area, selling t-shirts & Cd's of Underground Garage Punk Bands.
