Bassist and percussion from Ivory Coast who came to Europe originally to play with Zap Mama. Her solo career was launched with the album Dida (2005). She has also been the subject of a musical documentary, “Femme de rythme” (2007) and is third album Lowlin will release in Europe debut 2010.
She has received the MTV Africa price of "Best performing artist of Ivory Coast 2009"
Talentueuse percussionniste, Manou s’est imposée en quelques années comme l’une des rares chanteuses-bassistes sur la scène internationale sous le sceau du groove et de l’authenticité. Sa grande souplesse rythmique et l’originalité de son jeu de basse ont fait d’elle une artiste totalement atypique.
Après 4 ans passés à sillonner les routes d'Afrique, d'Amériques et d'Europe et donner plus de 250 concerts, Manou Gallo nous revient avec un troisième opus musical plus acoustique et intimiste, intitulé tout naturellement LOWLIN, « voyage » en langue Dida. Un voyage qui nous entraîne dans son univers chatoyant, tissé de soul, de funk, de reggae et de musiques authentiques de l’Afrique de l’Ouest.
