We've been sharpening our Existenzpop sound since the spring of 2003. Various came and left, but our sound remains a clearly defined britpop one - from our 2003 demotape, over the legendary "Confessions: Yes!" undrugged session to our first proper record.
We've been constantly brewing around with our AEtheling EP for two years, and are proud to announce its final release!
"Why Mardukh?" the name Mardukh, standing for the iconic deity of metropolism since the dawn of history, was the perfect choice for our heavily nostalgic britpop, and for our lyrics circling around the epic feel of the classic modern era.
Currently in the making is our next record Mardukh Republic, with which we are aiming for a much darker, heavier sound, which was -except for "GUN" and "Shitelife"- only sparsely represented on AEtheling EP and our demo. However, if you were unlucky enough to listen to the abysmal and therefore strictly limited "Mardukh Live & Schrott in der Kasse" live album, our new sound might actually be quite familiar to you...
