I'm a record producer, engineer, musician and songwriter with a small farm and recording studio (www.myspace.com/aeriestudio) just outside Austin, Texas. Four dogs, one cat, and about a thousand or so wild jackrabbits. I consider myself blessed to be able to do what I do for a living.
I've been in bands since I was seventeen. I was born in London, England, and raised in Cleveland Ohio, where I started out playing keyboards for Buzzy Lindhart in about 1977. I was a founding member of The Generators, who were very popular in their time and the model for The Barbusters, Joan Jett and Michael J. Fox's band in the Paul Schrader film "Light Of Day." I also did a stint, believe it or not, as a touring member of Gary Lewis and the Playboys (anyone remember them?)
Later, in Los Angeles I had some success with a band called The Borrowers (EMI/Guardian), and after moving to Austin I formed a group called Kitty Gordon with Nina Singh and a revolving door of other musicians. Following that, I held forth every Tuesday night at the Saxon Pub with my band MAD 3, and more recently I played guitar with the Guy Forsyth band for about a year after producing his record "Love Songs: For and Against." (the pic is of me playing piano with Mr. Forsyth and friends at the Crossroads club in Antwerp, Belgium)
Currently I play bass with Freedy Johnston on Monday nights at Momo's club, but I spend most of my time in the studio recording other artists. I get to make new music every day and work with wonderful and talented people. It's Heaven.
