Biography

Mark Sixma (M6) was born 23 rd of february 1983 in the Netherlands . Early on in his life he discovered his passion for music. Ranging from house to rock and even classical piano pieces. Especially the latter encouraged him to learn how to play the keys which proved to be a great benefit later on. At high school he started playing records at school parties. When he heard 'System F - out of the blue' he started to listen to trance music more and more. He also started to produce some tracks in Fruityloops with a helping hand from Paul Moelands ( Re :locate /Octagen ).

It wasn't until the year 2005 that he started to put more time and effort into this. His tracks started to increase in quality and received some support by DJ's with their own radioshows like Manuel le Saux , St John and Guto Putti . Not long after that Basic Beat contacted him and after hearing some of his work they signed two of his tracks (freak electrique & techmatic ) which were the first to be released on the new sublabel Reflexion. 'Freak electrique ' was also featured on Riley and Durrant's mix compilation CD 'a quest for trance 2'. Mark's latest tracks under M6 and Project 6 guise have found support by top jocks like Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Judge Jules, Gareth Emery and many more.

His tracks are being released on labels like Armada, Black hole Recordings, Fektive, Five AM, and Octavius Recordings. After graduating at the University of Tilburg on the major social psychology in September 2006 he has more time for making music than ever before. So be sure to keep an eye on him!

Temple One - String Theory (M6 Remix)[Out Now]

My remix of Temple One's new tune is out now. A dark symphonic track with a techy feel to it. It's allready been picked up by some of the big players in trance:

M6 - Paradise Lost on ASOT 2009!!!

The annual edition of Armin van Buuren's CD "A State of Trance" will be out shortly. Last year my track "Amazon Dawn" was featured on the 2008 compilation. This year another M6 track can be found on the CD, It's my new summer tune "Paradise Lost". Check out a preview in the audioplayer.

After playing the track at Armin Only and a State of Trance 350, Armin chose M6 - Fade to Black as the Tune of the Week on ASOT 353. The No.1 DJ predicts that the record is gonna be "extremely big"! More info on the release coming soon

The duo from Argentina is about to release their first vocal track with no other than Josie on the vocals! Paul and I were asked to do the remix honours. You will be able to hear the results soon!

Klauss Goulart - Deep Universe (M6 Remix)

Brazilian Dj Klauss Goulart delivers a very melodic tune with a memorable hook. Armada asked me to do a remix... et voila! Armin van Buuren allready played this on his Essential Mix and on ASOT (2x). The release is set for later this summer

Julian Vincent - No End (M6 vs Re:locate Remix)

This is the follow up to Julian's first single "Certainty". Cathy Burton's fantastic vocals send shivers down the spine! I'm very happy with the remix Paul and I did as well. Will be out soon on Armada!

Solid Sounds Radioshow

Every 2nd tuesday of the month I host my own radioshow on danceradio from 16.00 - 18.00 GMT. If you miss that broadcast you can always go to puresound.fm on every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 9pm GMT.

I will be delivering a 2 hour mix of the most solid sounding tracks each month, occasionally featuring a DJ-mix by some of his friends like Def Tactical, Re:locate, Manuel le Saux, Marcus Schossow and others.

Like my productions the radioshow will contain several genres of dance music. Expect progressive tracks with a techy edge as well as smooth melodies
