Influences
easy & hard to say at the same time.
When i was young i loved Duran Duran and the Cure and Siouxsie and the Banshees... and i still do, so fuck you, my man. i'm still a huge 80's freak cuz, well, shit, it was the best era in modern music and it's when the electronic shit really got bumpin'. i grew up with synthesizers and synth pop and synth rock, flirted with goth and industrial, but fell in love with HOUSE.
i made money with HOUSE. i fucked bitches all over the world because of HOUSE. i'm very lucky that people love my music and each and every person who has supported me & all those who support me today are the worlds best. This goes for the labels, the fans, the promoters, the DJ's and the monkeys in Aomori Prefecture. i love all of you for loving me.
SHOUT OUTS
Deee-Lite, Tyree Cooper, Wicked Crew (especially Garth & Thomas in the early 90's), Duran Duran, New Order, Skinny Puppy, Joy Division, Fast Eddie, Eddie Richards, Terry Francis, All the old sick acid and dark house tracks I heard raving out back in the day.
Much respect to the people still keeping house alive like '95. Jay Tripwire, Mazi, Nukes, Kut, Diz, Derrick Carter, Vernon Douglas, Jeno, Tyler Stadius (sickest DJ in the world), the Household Gang, Innerflight, Swag Records, Fabric London, Andrew Weatherall, Asad Rizvi, Grant Dell, Mark Ambrose, Phonique, Freq Nasty, Rui da Silva, Adam Collins & the Euphoria Household, Hallucination Recordings & DJ Three, Buddy System (you crazy fuck!), Remioli Crew, Solid Crew, fuck... too many to mention, just keep on doin' whatchu doin', you know who you are!

Once known as half of the American Tech-House trail blazers, OMNI A.M., Marky Star has been an international player in the world house community since the mid-90's. These days he is a globally recognized solo artist in his own right. Since 1995 he has appeared on nearly 60 international releases and performed on 4 continents.
Together with Adam Collins, he ran the label Euphoria Records, which most people consider the first US Tech-House label. Besides OMNI A.M., Marky was also one of the first US producers to push the new Acid House revival.
Marky’s style morphed out of the deep, techy sounds of dub and acid, drawing from his experience DJing and producing in Chicago and New York. His records are in the crates of such legendary DJs as Derrick Carter, Lee Burridge, Doc Martin, “Evil” Eddie Richards, Terry Francis and Asad Rizvi.
In 2004, Marky started a new label project called /qoo7 featuring cutting edge dance music from US, UK and Japanese producers. So far, the label has offered music by the likes of BT’s Hair, Osamu M, Freaky Chakra, Little Mike & Ty Tek and that one guy who is always touching monkeys…
After relocating to Tokyo in 2005, Marky has begun DJing and producing again. His current releases include A Lazy Shade of Winter (a collection of previously unreleased material) and The Fuck Knob featuring Tokyo’s very own Nukes providing remix support. Also watch for his upcoming remixes of Adam Collins and BT’s Hair!
