Born from the union of sassy lead singer Julia Garlington and bass player Dan Herzberg in 2001 - at Sin City's Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel, the group relocated from San Diego to the sweet south in March of 2008..... Recent South of the Mason-Dixon Line performance highlights include: 12th & Porter with Kingbilly for GAC, Kansas's Country Stampede (along the likes of Sugarland, Rascal Flatts, & Little Big Town), Manuel's Birthday Bash (THE Country Couture King) and his daughter Morelia's Rhinestone Cure Benefit. Next up is a performance at HAYSTOCK in Iowa and a show at 3rd and Lindsley - one of Nashville's PREMIER music venues. Yee Frick'n Haw!!.... In Fall of '07, Married By Elvis released their much anticipated debut album, Better Late Than Never, to their San Diego hometown. Ten of the eleven tracks featured on the CD were co-written by MBE's frontwoman, Julia Garlington. In conjunction with that milestone, the band completed a 2 1/2 month stint as the official house band for KSON’s Hometown Handshake Tour (San Diego's 1 Country Radio Station). Additionally, MBE has opened shows for Blake Shelton and Cross Canadian Ragweed and been featured on NBC, FOX, KUSI and in San Diego Union-Tribune’s STREET, 944 magazine, San Diego Magazine, Southern California's WANT magazine (Julia was one of their top 10 So Cal bombshells!) and Living In Style magazine…just to name a few! .... In Spring of '08, MBE was honored to be featured in FIRE RELIEF - a compilation CD benefitting the victims of the 2007 San Diego wildfires. The CD includes tracks from other notable San Diego artists such as Switchfoot, Angels & Airwaves, Greg Laswell, AJ Croce, and Tristan Prettyman.
