The Short List: Miles Davis, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Igor Stravinsky, Herbie Hancock, John Williams's scores for Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back, various classical Indian music and other world music.
I played (or programmed) all the instruments on the tracks on this page. For instance, on "Cedars" I played guitar, wood flutes, and hand percussion. For "Song for the Body," all percussion was performed on a household iron wine rack (holds six bottles) struck with rubber mallets and wooden sticks. "Lantern Bowls" features samples I recorded of four stainless steel bowls from my kitchen, sequenced in Propellerhead's Reason software.
In addition to making music, I've had a couple of books published on the subject of how to use Reason music production software: Using Reason's Virtual Instruments, and Reason 4 Ignite. Both are available on Amazon.
