At the 2nd annual Part Time Punks Festival in L.A. on October 11, 2009, Medium Medium paid tribute to Pylon guitarist Randy Bewley, who passed away on February 25, 2009, with a cover version of "M-Train." Video by Saba Safdar.

“…A few skronks and noises and the wah wah kicks in and we’re off….VERY impressive so far, a Bryan Ferry elegantly wasted fronting a pretty fierce, percussion heavy bunch. Surprise of the night for me, having really only known the name all this time. Now covering Pylon in tribute to Randy of said band, now sadly deceased. Great take, these guys are just plain on….Lead feller’s occasional sax work adds a scrawling but at times serene edge….Now a good bit of glam rumble with some crazy sax — nice! Need to cut out here but a fine spot to end on.”
Medium Medium emerged in 1979 out of punk/rhythm & blues band The Press in Nottingham, England. The band's second single, Hungry, So Angry, released in February 1981 on Cherry Red Records, has become a minor classic of post-punk/funk.

One of the first post-punk records to introduce slap-bass--a technique borrowed from black funk music--to a generally white audience, the Hungry, So Angry 7-inch import peaked at no. 48 in Billboard's Disco chart in June 1981.
Hungry, So Angry has appeared on almost 20 compilations over the years, most recently in December 2008.
The band released only one studio album, 1981's The Glitterhouse, and split up in late 1983. Live in Holland, featuring shows recorded in May 1981 and June 1982, was released in 1988.
Inspired by a Cherry Red retrospective compilation CD release in 2001 and the subsequent dance-punk revival, which included a number of bands inspired by Medium Medium, the band reformed in late 2004 for several live shows on the East and West Coasts of the United States, including a showcase at the CMJ Music Marathon in New York.
