Bio
Writer and guitarist with Tarbox Ramblers. More recently I've branching out with new songs in a different vein and doing solo shows. I grew up in Boston, immersed in Catholic iconography. Since then I've been a sandhog, seaman, sewer builder, miner, cowboy, laborer and paving supervisor. At this point I can't help but think that most of my songs are, secretly, gospel numbers. -

PRESS.. .ALL MUSIC GUIDE:.... "The Tarbox Ramblers go down into the deep reaches of their frontman's collective American Gothic psyche, and dredge up the ghosts, the faded photographs, the myths and texts of a time that may never have existed in the popular consciousness… starkly beautiful textures that are drenched in sepia-toned images, and black and white newsreels from the focal point of the ravaged human heart... a slash and burn affair that holds its secrets close, and offers its dirty treasures abundantly." THE WASHINGTON POST:.... "A sound that is at once reminiscent of the past yet wholly original... Their chemistry, akin to a force of nature, is undeniable... This is a band that demands to be seen again." THE NEW YORKER:.... "The band's debut album is filled with early-twentieth century blues and back-country music. Between the string bass, drums and slide guitar, you won't know what hit you." ....MOTHER JONES:.... "Grimy, thrilling noise"

Hey, did i see that fella pull a mandolin and then that baritone sax from inside his coat?
The whole ensemble sounded great. Amazing how much you guys fit on to that stage, and very nice to hear the songs so fleshed out. Good to see you again!
Howdy Michael,
Wow. "My Primitive Joy" is a massively lush soundscape. Incredibly evocative and beautiful lyrics. First class songwriting sir. Thanks so much for the friendship. It's a real honor. I look forward to listening to the rest of the tracks soon. I invite you to sample my humble offerings sometime. I've posted all ten tracks to my debut CD "East of Eden". I'd be very open to any feedback you might have. Be well.
