About me: Welcome to the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival. Along with the wide range of musical expression, we have scores of workshops, parties and dances planned for each festival on our 650 beautiful acres of remote Michigan woodland. For 30+ years, our ever-changing intergenerational tribe of womyn has come together to make music, art, performance and community in a swirling mix of personality, culture, age and experience. We travel to northern Michigan to enjoy another year of unique and diverse performances from an eclectic mix of artists, and to sink into the familiar comfort of a time and space where we celebrate all things female. Make it to Michigan one time and it will call to you each and every August.

Dear Fest: I am so excited and grateful that you exist. If I can afford to be there this year, it will be year number five for me. I promised myself that if I made it to year five that I would get a tattoo afterward to commemorate the experience. While the tattoo is the farthest thought at the moment; I pray to all the goddesses that something amazing will happen and I will be back to the land, my home.
Thanks for the Vanity Fair link Doria! What a hoot! But also, just how fabulous is that!?!
I love that under "uniform" they noted "hankerchiefs". Even if those that don't wear them in their back pockets don't get the reference, those of us that do sure appreciate the "uniform" reference. And in Vanity Fair! Hello, progress!
But wait, there's more: check out the super true statements under "why any nudity" and "post-festival plans". Vanity Fair seems to have a kick ass feminist influencing what gets published, and/or the two male writers are feminist men - LOVE IT!
It's true: the closer I am to you, the closer I am to fine Michigan! Can't wait to feel so FINE!
hey is anyone out there traveling from ABQ New Mexico or somewhere around there. Trying to find someone with a lil space for me and my bag. willing to pitch in with gas and driving! send me a message. thanks

Oh my goddess!! Did you know Michigan is in Vanity Fair this month?!!! Of course you didn't know. What dyke reads Vanity Fair? (my flaming gay teacher told me about it) Well check it out. July 2008 issue with Angelina Jolie on the cover. Page 66. It's hilarious!!! Xo
Had my birthday last friday and hiked to a lake on top of a mountain to washed my soul. Very Walking to Mercury, very deep lez, very Michigan. Miss you.
This years festival is on the top of my mind. It has been a few years so I am really excited to visit once again. Recently, I saw a show by Chris Pureka and completely loved it. In turn, I ordered the music and am completely satisfied while listening. It would be fabulous if you could invite Ms Pureka to play at Michfest. Just a tip, since I think her music would fuel the energy of the festival. See you in August!
Thanks for the friendship! Our page is about women in music, so I put your poster up in our upcoming events section of the page!! All the best from PattiQ and Phoenix, aka the Evil Twins!! lol xoxo
