Hello and welcome to myspace. Here you will find lots of music from peope all over the world and lots of good friends..... I still like to play some music whenever I can .
We remember Ronnie Drew these days and those of us who worked with him and knew him are all the better for it. Those of us who were touched by his voice,his humour, his humanity, his dignity, his courage ....well.... we are so much richer for the experience. .... smile when you think of Ronnie. I reckon he would go for that.......................
You can listen to some of my songs and some of the music from Stocktons Wing. You can also tune in to some great music from myfriends section..........There is no point having all that great music and information hidden away in the back pages of the friends space so I try to change my top friends as regular as possible, with a few obvious exceptions. So please , please stay awhile and listen to some great music.................,,,...............If you have a few minutes check out the blog on digital rights. Shame on some of our so called concerned major writers who now populate our music boards. They have sold us down the river for cheap money while they keep their cosy music publishers happy on their silk deck chairs. They quickly forget their early writing days .......................................

MY LIFE IN A FEW SECONDS........................

Sang and wrote with Maura O Connell in the late 70' . She now lives in Nashville and is cooking up a storm wherever she goes........Joined Stocktons Wing in 1980 writing all the songs and playing guitar and vocals for the following 15 years........ Had a few hits and one of the songs Beautiful Affair was recently voted into the 75 all time great hits on Irish National Broadcast radio station RTE. It also reached no. 7 in another radio show poll for the best in the past 25 years. Spent the last 10 years with Ronnie Drew in theatres across the world....Recorded several albums/CD's with Stocktons Wing also with Ronnie Drew, Leslie Dowdall, Eleanor Shanley, Finbar Furey and more.... Toured the world and got the t-shirt... Apparently we had a great time!!!!!!!
First solo project Someone Like You in 94 and second one What You Know in 2002....... Still love to tour and put the acoustic guitar through a few hoops!!!!!My guitars, Louden, Taylor big baby, gibson tenor and a squire fender strat.. I also bought my first Ukelele................... I love to cook and just started working in that industry... Hope there are no music publishers in the kitchen......for their sake........lots more on the web site.....www.mikehanrahan.com. ....

Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
