I love my garden, particularly growing grape vines. I love meeting new people and going to interesting places. Tennis but I don't play enough and am useless! Reading and I wish I had time to do more. Of course eating but that needs to become more of an occasional hobby.

Anything but Ben Cantelon. Pilavachi sings christmas is probably my favourite. I also love the old stuff. Simon and Garfunkel, Paul Simon, the Beatles, Leonard Cohen, T Rex, James Taylor, Pink Floyd, Roberta Flack and loads of others most of you would never have heard of. I also love some of the old hymns.
Movies
Everone says this but Shawshank redemption is probably my favourite film. Stunning story. Then My big fat greek wedding because it is so like my family, Some like it hot because it is very funny and has Marilyn Monroe in it. Most things with Peter Sellers, he is a genius. Dirty rotten scoundrels and sad to say Notting Hill.
Television
The old stuff I'm afraid. Fawlty Towers, The Vicar of Dibley, Only fools and horses, The west wing, Blackadder and Yes Prime Minister. Also Steptoe and Son, Upstairs Downstairs and Morecambe and Wise!
Books
Of course the Bible, Celebration of discipline, My family and other animals, at the moment Cost of discipleship by dietrich bonhoeffer,the first world war poets like Wilfred Owen and Sigfried Sassoon and Long walk to freedom by Nelson Mandela.
Heroes
Apart from the obvious, John the Baptist as he came to prepare the way for Jesus and said "He must increase, I must decrease". In an age where self-promotion is normal John is a wonderful example of someone who lived his whole life not consumed with himself.
Nelson Mandela. He forgave and reconciled with people who had stripped his people of dignity and robbed him of 20 years of his life and as a result gave hope to a nation.
Nicky Gumble. Not because he started Alpha, but because of his grace and humility and total lack of pomposity.
Anyone who has lost weight and not put it all back on again!
About me: Welcome to myspace! I am a Pastor of a church called Soul Survivor Watford and work for an organisation called Soul Survivor. I am one of the oldest youth workers in the world but there is honestly nothing else I would rather do. I love the fact that I have great friends all over the world as well as here in Watford. I love God very much although I am not very good at following him. I am constantly amazed at his grace, mercy and love. One day I hope to grow up. One day I hope to lose weight and get fit. One day I want to walk to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back up again without the aid of a rescue helicopter.
Who I'd like to meet: Nelson Mandela, Sir Alex Ferguson, Felicity Kendall and anyone else who has a great story to tell. Myself when I was 13 so that I could give myself some advice and tell myself not to worry as I would survive.

hiya :) thanks for last night :) the tripping over cables was my highlight...along with the crazy scream :) no in all honesty, I think you are a fantastic man and I wish I was coming away with you next year to be wrecked. Thank you for a wondeful Soul Survivor this year Mike. It was sooooo amazing. Even though the news about Mike was devisating when i heard a couple of weeks ago, the song still means such a lot to me, and thanks for introducing it to us. He, and all his family, are in my prayers at what must be one of the hardest times of their lives.
Even though he lied, I am glad that he doesn't have cancer, but still think that he does need some help, and am praying for him desperately!
This years Soul Surviour changed my life soooo much more than the previous years, and i feel sooo better for it.
You and the team helped me on this journey this year, and i feel God really helped me with my future this year. He helped me realise so much this year. I am trying to get my mate to come along next year with us. She is not a christian, yet hopefully, but I hope that coming to SS would be an amazing experience for her, and that she will really enjoy it.

When will you start looking for volunteers for next year cos i think i may volunteer to do the childrens work at week A cos im a qualified nursery nurse and think i would enjoy it
allo mike. I love da book so far, (storylines) it has really inspired me along with yor talks to start doing what god wants me to do which is to spread the word of God to other young people. Especially with the 25th death in london just happened. I will do this by mcing about Jesus to Grime music. So erm cheers mike.
Hi mike, Just wanted to encourage you that all the people in my church and the church youth groups around the town are praying for Mike G and his family. We were all touched by that song and it did come as a shock when we found out the truth but that shock very quickly turned to sorrow for his family and prayer for them aswell. Just wanted you to know that alot of people are praying for him and will be for a long time! God Bless Andy
