About me:
Appalled by the rise in the wearing of denim by all social classes, as well as an increasing willingness to display one's undergarments in public, I, as a lady of discerning taste, endeavour to recreate the romance of days gone by, armed only with my grace, charm, wit and wind-up gramophone. I work both alone and as a member of the lovely
Shellac Sisters.
Allow me to add my own particular panache to any of your social occasions. My music is as impeccable as my style. My library of original 78s ranges from the sophistication of big band swing to the torrid embrace of the tango, as well as waltzes, polkas, foxtrots, Charlestons, and all of the most modern sounds of the 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s. Oh, and I have an extensive collection of dance music from the same eras, stored on shiny silver discs.
My gramophone has been adapted to allow me to play in any setting, both indoors and out. I am equally at home in the most intimate of speakeasys as I am in the most ostentatious of ballrooms.
Who I'd like to meet:
Ladies and gentlemen of taste and distinction. This includes, but is not limited to, flappers and flibbertigibbets, dandies and doughboys, suffragettes and socialites, bon viveurs and vamps.
