MIXTUNE FOR CULLY
We Know Where The Aircrafts Hide
Mixtune For Cully is the solo project from Aage Hedensted. Hedensted is known for his former work in the bands Yellowish and Slowburn, but has with this solo project really come into his right as a singer/songwriter.
Aage Hedensted has been playing music since the early 90’es in different bands. We Know Where The Aircrafts Hide was recorded in the summer of 2008, and released in October.
With a beautiful, strong voice and a fragile thoughtfulness in the lyrics Mixtune For Cully delivers an accessible singer/songwriter universe filled with love. The music is a mixture of Americana and British folk travelling between melancholy and optimism, contemplation and pop sensibility. The sound is intimate and there is a warm interaction between acoustic guitar, cello, percussion etc.
We Know Where The Aircrafts Hide has been well received by the media and several songs have been played on the radio.

BERLINGSKE TIDENDE * * * *
There is a whole world of rock names that are dark and tepid, but still worships beauty.
The National, Interpol and Tindersticks are some of the finest names in the field, which now also includes Mixtune For Cully. Behind the peculiar name is Aage Hedensted, who has created positive attention before in the band ‘Yellowish’, but is actually better on his own. A convincing solo debut from a singer and songwriter that we hope to hear more from in the future.

It seems as if Aage Hedented has wanted to cut to the bone in his new songs in order to find a cleaner and purer identity. The result is a collection of songs that are extremely fragile but at the same time filled with gravity and depth. ‘We Know Where the Aircrafts Hide’ is a beautiful next chapter from a songwriter that you should keep an eye on.
GAFFA * * * * - - Danish singer/songwriter debut with a love for melancholy.
Most of the album emphasizes the acoustic expression, as can be heard on the melancholy songs ‘Same Old Talkers’ and ‘Fire From a Known Patrol’. However, it is on songs like ‘The Aircrafts’ and ‘Incoming Proposes’ that Mixtune For Cully really makes the songs soar with a roaring and captivating atmosphere.

Heavenly Danish Shoegazer
Acoustic guitar and deep felt vocals make out the atmospheric basis, that evolves to a full assault from time to time – e.g. in ‘The Aircrafts’ and ‘Strike Slow’. These tracks in particular make this album one of the best Danish albums of the year.
