The Validators are MJ Hibbett (guitar, vocals), Frankie Machine (bass), Tom McClure (strings), Emma Pattison (vocals) and Tim Pattison (drums).
Our latest release is A Million Ukeleles. It’s an MJ Hibbett solo album with 12 new recordings, featuring guest appearances by lovely people like Phil Wilson (June Brides), Charlie Flowers (The Fighting Cocks) and Pete Green, as well as The Validators! It’s available in a limited edition hand made version and on digital download, and we’ve got some VERY nice t-shirts to go with it.
Our last album was WE VALIDATE!. Artrocker called it "2006’s most worthwhile album" while The Morning Star said it was "a manifesto for living". The Word magazine said "MJ Hibbett should be a national institution", which was very nice of them!
In 2006 we played a live session from Maida Vale for Steve Lamacq’s Radio 1 Show.
In 2004 Rob Manuel’s video for Hey Hey 16K was a massive internet hit - it was in the top 10 sites on the internet for a week, and has had around 4 million downloads so far!
Our second album, This Is Not A Library was named Album Of The Year in Rolling Stone online. It’s sold out at the moment, but we’re hoping to re-release it in 2008.
Before The Validators, Tim was in Prolapse while Frankie was a member of The Almanacs and the live band for White Town.

You are invited to Katie & the Questions first gig at the Junction Leeman Road, York on the 9th July. Only £4 on the door.
Katie & The Questions were formed out the prefabs of North Yorkshire in June 2008, when Katie met guitar playing keyboardist ‘E’ after he advertised for someone to play ‘shove halfpenny’ with. They clicked over their love of guitar based music and decided to form a band.
