So it began, as most bands do, In high school. 4 friends meet and discover the mutual love for making sweet tunes and having a good time. Whether it be in the school choir, or as the future would hold it, on the stage, Dan, Matt, Mark and Eli created Moglee in light of this common idea...
Distributing a bit of reggae, a helping of funk, and good old rock, the quartet debuted on February 9th, 2007 to a few hundred high school friends in the school chapel area. The result was a myriad of positive responses and good times had by everyone, including the band.
Throughout 2008, Moglee played over 50 shows throughout many different cities in Ontario meeting new friends, new bands, and learning many new tools that would help along the way. Song writing also started to mature over this time and after months in the studio, Moglee’s first full length album “Recess!” was released independently, and worldwide online through iTunes and CD Baby. Recess! was hailed as the 4th best album of 2008 by the K-W Record, and garnered many positive reviews from friends and music lovers everywhere.
Up to this point, Moglee has had the opportunity to share the stage with a countless number of talented acts both locally, and from around country. Some of these bands include The Planet Smashers, Crash Parallel, Shad K, The Flatliners, Down With Webster, and Lifestory:Monologue.
With an evolving and maturing sound, the boys in Moglee are soon to hit the studio to release another EP in the summer of 2009, as well as hitting the road to play dozens of shows all over Ontario in the summer. Catch the energy and good times in a city near you!!
