Monotax is a group formed by Zooey (a.k.a. Pablo Heredia), Elephant Pixel (a.k.a. Dilo), & imi. After many years collaborating toguether (imi and Zooey played in the Elephant Pixel live band), they decide to form their own project in 2006; fusing electronica (idm, clicks and cuts, minimal), hip hop & rock (folk, post rock, indie, new wave).
At the end of 2008 the Monotax debut album was released by Igloo Pop (sub label of igloo-rec) and the singles (Poxilana & KM de cables) were released on vinyl by the danish label Lo Mid High Unlmtd, including remixes by Jay Haze (Context Terrior) and Ernesto Ferreyra (Mutek, Cynosure).
Next release is the double album called "Random Galope / Water", definitely the biggest effort by the band so far, containing around 30 songs and featuring remixes by Console (aka Acid Pauli, The Notwist) & Fase.
