She has got one of the most particular voices in Malta, and she sings anything from rock to progressive pop….
“SPY 1 to SPY 4…… I’ve deciphered the code”……. It’s MORENA!!!!!!!!!!!
This dynamic singer hails from Gozo, and has swept through the local music scene like a tornado, winning some of the most prestigious festivals, which include Festival Kanzunetta Maltija and being awarded Palma Tad- Deheb (Golden Palm Award) for her achievements. Relatively new to the music scene, she has always been highly interested in singing ever since she was a little girl and danced in front of the mirror with a broomstick. Coached by her elder sister Georgina, who is a soprano, she slowly but surely began to develop her vocal talent. Once she was 18 she became the lead singer of the band Spectrum, and is still their front liner till this very day.
In 2006, she was offered to sing in a duet with Paul Giordimiana. The song was called “Time”, and this was Morena’s first taste of the Malta song for Europe festival. She placed 9th, but soon realised she was not about to give up on winning the golden ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest. “Hurricane Morena” would be back!
Meanwhile she took part in several TV shows, and continued her collaboration with well known composer/producer Philip Vella, with whom she had worked in the past.
In the last year, she also met Gerard James Borg who immediately was very impressed by Morena, and the successful songwriting duo decided to invest their time and energy in the “Mediterranean Volcano”. VODKA, was the result of one of their works, and soon enough Morena was recording in the studios. A few months later she was on the Malta song for Europe podium, belting out the catchy song which she prefers to describe as “progressive pop”. She won the festival, winning the media’s and people’s hearts on the way, and now she is ready to “VODKA” her way to the Eurovision Song Contest! “SPY 1 to SPY 4…. You just have to connect”.
Now that Eurovision 2008 passed away , I hope that you're going to release an album. You were way better than the other participat , but the political vote ruins what the Eurovision Song Contest used to be. I'm still listening to Vodka , because I really like the song.
dear morena! i am sorry for you. your perfomance was marvellous unfortunately you don..t were in the finals. albania was in the finals. but some songs that were beaty don..t qualificated. have a nice weekend. greeting from albania.

Hi Morena, Voted for you during Eurovision Semi final and you should deserve to be in the final but your VODKA performace was incredible! But don't worry, there's always John Terry Vodka, made in the U.K, bottled in Moscow (sorry about that,never got bored of that joke). But anyway, greetings from the U. all I can say to you is keep singing no matter what Morena... don't let this get you down... I believe and have faith in you... keep living your dream as a singer... you're a beautiful and talented young lady... you are always a winner!!!!

Hello! I logged in for one purpose only - to say that I was soooo much sure you'll make it to the final that I didn't at first even notice that you weren't in... It is soo strange! I mean - those _pirates_ were definitely out of place and your voice and performance and everything - they were great!!! I loved it! I was so sure you'll get somewhere in the top of the competition that I hardly believe things are the way they are. It is even more unfair than the fact that Chiara has got only as far as #2 while Paparizou's #1... O.o Eurovision sometimes is really stange but this time it is self-defeating. When such potential stars as you are get nowhere it is really strange... I mean - it is not just that I personally think you are very talented (and my mum). It is the set of your looks, voice, manners, skills, performance and everything - everything is there and that's the way it turns out to be...
I only wish you to keep on fighting!!! It is worth it!!!!!!!! Really!!! You should become a popular singer anyways! This is only one defeat and numerous victories ahead!
