About me:
I am a poet, novelist, healer, and yoga teacher. Originally from South Africa, I was drawn to Brighton because I love the sea and identified with its bohemian atmosphere. This is a place where everything seems possible. Brighton provides me with inspiration to write on a daily basis.
I've been writing poetry and stories since I was tiny and had my first publication at age nine in a local newspaper. In 2003 I performed my poetry at the Cape Town Festival and self-published a collection called 'The Bare Bones'. Recently I self-published 'The Bare Bones Volume 2', now available to order through My Space or at any of my performances.
When I moved to Brighton I became involved in the Brighton Poetry Society open mike nights. These were my first platforms to express my art through an oral medium, and I found this very liberating, particularly as writing can be such an isolated exercise. Since then I have been performing at local events such as 'Raw', 'Hammer and Tongue', and 'Wordplay'. I have been featured as 'Poet of the Month' on the Brighton Poetry Society website (www.brightonpoetrysociety.co.uk ), been and also read and discussed my poetry along with other women writers, on Radio Reverb (www.radioreverb.com). I have written two children's books and am currently working on a novel for adults.
It is my hope to reach out to an ever wider audience and to use my writing therapeutically in conjunction with my psychology and healing training. I would like to experiment with reading for different audiences and in different settings. I am also interested in collaborating with musicians in the future in as-yet unidentified ways!
I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
Also I run The Great Edinburgh Run as part of team Finola and did a gig to help send Finola Forman to college as the government in Scotland unlike the rest of the UK wont help disabled people with complex needs when they want to go into further education, check out her site at

After the Langobardi come the Reudigni, Auiones, Angli, Varni, Eudoses, Suarines and Nuithones all well guarded by rivers and forests.
There is nothing remarkable about any of these tribes unless it be the common worship of Nerthus, that is Earth Mother.
They believe She is interested in men's affairs and drives among them.
On an island in the ocean sea there is a sacred grove wherein waits a holy wagon covered by a drape.
One priest only is allowed to touch it.
He can feel the presence of the goddess when She is there in her sanctuary and accompanies Her with great reverence as She is pulled along by kine.
It is a time of festive holidaymaking in whatever place She decides to honour with Her advent and stay.
No one goes to war, no one takes up arms, in fact every weapon is put away, only at that time are peace and quiet known and prized until the Goddess, having had enough of peoples company, is at last restored by the same priest to Her temple.
After which the wagon and the drape, and if you like to believe me, the deity Herself is bathed in a mysterious pool.
There is a story behind the imagery used in the animation for TWiN Poetry PiCK of the WEEK track "Inside of Outside" by Cyndi Dawson and Jair-Rohm Parker-Wells.
It explores the the relationship of the Muse with the female artist and some of the images used are over 27,000 years old from a site known as Dolni Vestonice which was in Moravia.
It illustrates the archetype of the artist-shaman as living both inside and outside of their own culture.
Here was an encampment of dwellings made of mammoth-bones covered with hides which was surrounded by a low circular rock wall.
Just outside of this was found an isolated stone hut which contained a kiln and a burial of the woman who both lived and worked there and so this became also her final resting place.
She is regarded as the world's first known artist for it is here that we find fired clay images for the very first time in human history.
Some of the animal figurines are finely shaped - particularly a study of the head of a cave lioness.
You should be able to find many images of these online if you look.
Hey lovely, sorry i couldnt make ur gig, was doing slam thing at the joogleberry,l another poetry festival doo dah - was it good?hope you are well and cu tues?xx
