Original Samples drummer (1987-1997) Jeep Macnichol recently travelled to Kingston, Jamaica with an acoustic guitar and drum machine.
"My goal was to record the ultimate dancehall/triphop/party cd with all of my heros in reggae music", says Jeep.
"Teaming up with legends like Sly&Robbie, Michael Rose from Black Uhuru, Bounty Killer, and Dave Wakeling from The English Beat among others was the experience of a lifetime for sure. I spent my life in high school listening to these guys, studying all of their styles and teaching myself how to play drums. To go from that to working and writing in the studio with these guys still blows me away...the whole experience was like something out of National Geographic."
The album is called "Mr. Anonymous" and is now available at Jeep's new website Mranonymous.net. The site features sound clips, photos, and the whole story behind the project

It's been a long time since the last bulletin. Hope you had a great
summer, and thanks to all of you for supporting the music...It's been
great reading all of the emails and comments from all of you..I really
appreciate it.
I wanted to announce some great news!!!
After 4 months of negotiation, Mr. Anonymous has finally signed with an
international record label...This means there will be many more albums
to come, so I'm extremely psyched!!!
Unfortunately this also means that the current cd will be unavailable
on the website until next spring...we are keeping stock until next
monday(october 10th) for anybody who wants to order one of the last original
copies over the weekend...Then it will be out of print.
I've already started work on "Mr. Anonymous 2"...expect repeat
performances from Sly & Robbie, Dave Wakeling, Michael Rose, and Frankie Paul
as well as some awesome new guests....plenty of
dancehall, dub, electronica...and some new surprises!!!
So take it easy everybody and have a great fall and holiday season!!!
Thanks for being our friend! We're almost finished with our premiere episode and hope that you visit the Local Surfing Network Web Site because we're about to launch our new contest for the show. Thanks again!
