In February 2003 I released my debut album 'Senor, My Friend . . .'on fledgling Dublin indie label Villain Records. Following rigorous scientific testing the irish Times declared it to be 'a rare thing: a genuine cult classic' and Mongrel called it 'one of the lost classics of irish indie pop'. The album includes fingerpicking acoustic songs about lovelorn mental patients, failed boxers, and frustrated authors.
I have written a single for Tom Dunning and Your Boyfriends called 'Fed Up and Strange' which was launched in July - available to buy from www.roadrecs.com.
Both my albums 'Senor, My Friend . . .' and 'The Herring and the Brine' are available from www.roadrecs.com
Please see the Blog section of this page for reviews.
The Herring and the Brine was written over a three-and-a-half-year period. The album is a subtle and tender portrayal of various characters’ lives through the themes of self-doubt, failure, resilience and the search for meaning. The album’s narratives deal with the exhaustion of a novice priest; the regret of a failed Latin American President; the slow drift to despair of a drowning man; and the reflected shock on an isolated rural community following a brutal murder by two sisters. Other than that, it’s fairly cheerful.
The title comes from the album’s penultimate song (‘Restring the bow’) in which a dissolute young rake escapes a personal crisis by fleeing to work and to come to terms with his conscience in a canning factory in Northern Germany (“And so I spend my time/Among the herring and the brine”).

New free Herv digital album out now on Cock Rock Disco!
Hi there,
Just a quick note to let you know that I have a new free digital release out now on Cock Rock Disco if you would like to take a listen.
Heres what label owner Jason Forrest / Dj Donna Summer had to say!
Herv: "Not figuratively, but literally in love with Music..."
"Ireland's sexiest laptopper lands his latest mini-album on Cock Rock Disco! "Not figuratively, but literally in love with Music..." is a rave inspired experimental break-acid-core thrill ride of endless ideas and possibilities. Herv packs a lot into the 8 tracks; melodies evolve and twist, beats fracture and congeal and synths collide! It's exciting! But that's not all, it comes with 2 cd designs and a freakin A0 sized poster! Whoa! Can't beat the value in that!"

You probably never guessed your blow-dryer could help you with these tasks! Get wax off wood furniture
It may have been a romantic evening, but that hardened candle wax on your wooden table or bureau is not the sort of lingering memory you had in mind. Melt it with a blow-dryer on its slowest, hottest setting. Remove the softened wax with a paper towel, then wipe the area with a cloth dipped in equal parts vinegar and water. Repeat if necessary. You can also remove wax from silver candlestick holders with a blow-dryer: Use the blow-dryer to soften the wax, then just peel it off.
Clean off radiators
Are those dusty cast-iron radiators around your house becoming something of an eyesore? To clean them, hang a large, damp cloth behind each radiator. Then use your blow-dryer on its highest, coolest setting to blow dust and hidden dirt onto the cloth.
Remove bumper stickers
Want to remove those cutesy stickers your kids used to decorate your car bumper to "surprise" you? Use a blow-dryer on its hottest setting to soften the adhesive. Move the dryer slowly back and forth for several minutes, then use your fingernail or credit card to lift up a corner and slowly peel off.
