.. "Panurge could easily do for Vancouver what Arcade Fire has done for Montreal" ----------------------------
Exclaim! Vancouver's Panurge continue their amalgam of flowery '60s pop and contemporary electronic music with Walking In the Fog, a remarkably cohesive and infectious collection of songs. The band's multiple writers and voices conjure varied influences but their output is generally light and airy. For every unabashedly retro moment on songs like the Byrds-influenced "The Hours They Pass", Panurge incorporate contemporary sounds that give this record a timeless feel. "Everybody's Waiting for the Cure" has the appeal of Neutral Milk Hotel, while "Amazon Molly" and "Monkey Town" have the hallmarks of slick Beck productions. "Counting Shadows" recalls the vividly personal narratives of Ray Davies. "Smile All the While" is just a catchy blast of Beach Boys summertime fun that is tempered by moodier pieces like "Father Wasted Time" and "It's All Inside Your Mind". With mostly positive vibes and their vivid imaginations on full display, Panurge let a collage of fascinating sounds run free on this remarkable pop record. ----------------------------

Hey Panurge People:
Aired Here Come The Warm Rats on this weeks show.Would love to have you people in to play. Unfortunately, its fundraising time at Co-op radio, and for some reason, Co-op and some of their hardcore listeners cannot seem to get their heads around the concept that supporting LOCAL talent is important too. So I am airing 2 Frank Zappa specials because (a) I love his music and (b)it gives the Co-op liseteners some point of reference they can identify with.
Anyway, keep up the fine music you produce and if you or anyone you know have a few bucks left in your pocket, and want to support commercial-free, deserving LOCAL talent on the air, the number to call is 604-684-8494 for Radio Bandcouver.
Still loving your tunes guys! I have your latest CD, Walking In The Fog.
I am going to try and make it to your show at The Plaza. Just so busy with my own band and solo recording projects that its impossible to make any shows. April is going to be a great month for that.
Good luck at The Chapel next week. Its an awesome venue!
Hello People:
A VANCOUVER RADIO SHOW IS ACTUALLY PLAYING YOUR MUSIC!!
Mark Bignell and Arseniy Vodopyanov from 102.7 FM Co-op radio's Radio Bandcouver. Heard on-line from www.bandcouver.com, across Canada on Starchoice, Channel 845 and at 102.7 FM in ol' Vancouvertown, 2:30-4pm PST ( 5:30-7pm EST, 6pm in Newfoundland )....your ''Walking In The Fog'' album shows what SHOULD be done with electronica-marry it to imaginative, memorable, exciting music and cohesive lyrics. Congrats on being signed to Last Gang. We loved the album so much ( Arseniy-my co-hort, aka:Radarhead on Myspace, on the show has the other copy ), we kept it at our respective dwellings before we would share it with anybody else. Our modern-day 'Smile' ( '' I wonder if people are ready for it.'') with our radio show. So far, we've aired ''Everybody's Waiting For The Cure'', ''Amazon Molly'', ''It's All Inside Your Mind'', and ''Here Come The Warm Rats''( Brian Eno reference...hmmm...)Beach Boys meets Brian Eno meets Dukes Of Stratosphere meets electronica, with all the musicality, intelligence and inventive playing associated with aforementioned greats. A tremendous musical leap forward that will garner many more future airings and listenings at Radio Bandcouver!
Well done,people!!
Just wanted to say HAPPY NEW YEAR and COME BACK TO EDMONTON!!! (Remember my birthday is May 10 so if you come after that I'll see you anywhere because I won't be underage!! woo!!)
