NASTRANDIR gründete sich im Jahre 2006.
Die ersten Songs, klassischer Pagan/Viking Metal, wurden in Form der One-Track EP „Des Kriegers Reise“ und der „Demo 2006“ fixiert.

NASTRANDIR spielten Gigs mit Bands wie Moonsorrow, Ensiferum, Equilibrium, Korpiklaani und Tyr.
Bei dem norddeutschen Label Twilight stieß man schnell auf großes Interesse. Twilight veröffentlichte das Debut-Album „Zwischen Horizonten“ im September 2007.

Im Songwriting setzte man währenddessen immer neue Akzente und versuchte sich stetig weiterzuentwickeln.
Progressivere, ruhigere Parts, aber auch schnelle Blastbeats fanden immer mehr Verwendung im Schaffen der Band. Auch lyrisch sollten neue Wege beschritten werden.
Atmosphärischer, spiritueller Viking Metal wehte von nun an auf dem Banner Nastrandirs.
Das zweite Album „Prayer to Earth“ lässt den Hörer heidnischen Metal erleben, der es auch an klischeefreien Gegenwartsbezügen nicht fehlen lässt. „Prayer to Earth“ läutet ein neues Kapitel in der Geschichte dieser jungen Band ein…

      

      

NASTRANDIR was founded in 2006. The first songs, classic Pagan/Viking Metal were published on the One-Track EP "Des Kriegers Reise" and the "Demo 2006"

NASTRANDIR played Gigs with bands like Moonsorrow, Ensiferum, Equilibrium, Korpiklaani and Tyr.
The northern german Label Twilight showed interest in the young band and published the debut album "Zwischen Horizonten" in September 2007.

For the songwriting, the band tried to set a new course and to continously improve. Progressive, laid-back parts as well as fast blastbeats were used more intensively. As for their lyrics, Nastrandir broke new ground as well. Atmospheric, spiritual Viking Metal now was characteristic for Nastrandirs music. The second Album "Prayer to earth" will be released on Juli 31th, 2009 and will present the listener with heathen metal including streotype-free references to present times.
