Nathan started playing guitar with the inspiration and guidance from his Dad at the age of 9. Since then he has participated in numerous school band programs ranging from elementary to high school. After years of practice, and awarded a full scholarship, Nathan attended Wayne State University, graduating in 2002, with a bachelors in Jazz Performance.
Through out his career, Nathan Montgomery has performed with a wide range of music groups and styles including Groovelation- Jazz/Funk/Fusion, The Fringe- Rock, Wishbone- Rock, Saoco- Latin Jazz/Salsa, Grace and the guys- Jazz, Rhythm Society Orchestra- big band/swing, The Cary Heller Quintet- Jazz, 7MJ- rock/soul, and many many more.....
In Recent years Nathan has concentrated on a solo acoustic project. He has released two solo instrumental cd's, For Your Ears Only in 2005, 2-5 Jive in 2006 and has a third CD in the works that will be one of the first projects recorded in Studio 1946 . Nathan is a passionate and aggressive acoustic guitar player with such a crazy style of playing that makes every performance musically and visually brilliant! Influenced by an array of musicians, he has fused many styles including blues, funk, jazz, rock, and fingerstyle to create an original sound. The mood ranges from a hungry rage to a sensuous romance, tapping into every emotion in between. This one-man band plays with a fierce intensity, bending and pulling, banging and tapping, plucking and strumming the guitar, stretching both the instrument and him. The music is polyphonic; including melody, harmonic progressions, bass lines, as well as percussion all performed simultaneously.
Also Nathan has been a member of 7 Million Jigawatts since Feb 07. 7MJ delivers high energy danceable performances to the tune of current pop chart toppers, Rock and R&B hits spanning five decades, and catchy originals. The four diverse members forge a unique blend of Rock and Soul unique to Detroit and 7 Million Jigawatts including but not limited to the influence of Janis Joplin, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Green Day, Queen, Jane’s Addiction, Aretha Franklin and the White Stripes.

Ced n Teri LIVE on stage! “A Very Ced n Teri Xmas” is playing at Planet Ant Theatre weekends throughout December. This multi-media stage version will feature many of the other zany characters and TV spoofs from the web show and several new ones. Also in the tradition of the online version, there are several musical guests.
