I e-mailed NECA askin when the regan boxset is coming out and this is the responce i got back

I wish I had a definitive answer but due to the economy and lack of specialty retail support we could not produce this set in 2009. We're going to try again for 2010 as it is a set we're very proud of and we know a lot of collectors want to own it. I will keep you posted on any progress.

While I agree with you, I Dreamt About Fire in the Sky, I wish NECA did more with some of their already acquired licenses.... like Resident Evil ::cough::cough::

Either that or just give up on the license altogether. Earlier on, it looked as if NECA was all about acquiring licenses rather than doing anything with em.

A part of me understands NECA's tactics, but the collector side of me feels left sad/angry(kind of)/deprived.

Thank God for Hot Toys though!

I gotta agree; horror films as of late have been pretty iffy as of late, with all the crap and remakes. I just wish NECA could do a really solid license, like some collector oriented Indiana Jones figures or maybe a few more thriller/suspense flick figures, like Donnie Darko himself or something like that. As far as horror figures go, i'd still love to see more Romero zombies as those did pretty well, but when it comes down to it, there aren't too many horror films that warrant figures.

As for games, my vote goes to LEFT 4 DEAD, but being a horror fan, I'm bias.

Super Freddy from Nightmare on Elm Street 5 comes to mind, also Snake Demon Freddy from Nightmare on Elm Street 3. There are a few more variants left for the character, unlike someone like Jason Vorhees. or Michael Myers that are pretty much dressed the same. And there is still quite a bit out there if you're a collector of video game, comic book, Transformers action figures, like I am. There isn't much left in horror, because honestly, horror hasn't made any waves as of late. If there are any figures to be made it would be from films that are at least a few years old and fairly obscure. I can't think of any horror franchises that might warrant new figures that would actually sell decently, which blows, because I really want Ginger Snaps figures, but realize that its a relatively unknown film, and wasn't even a big hit with genre fans anyway. If they are going to continue with Cult Classics, I think they should broaden it to include iconic characters from all genres of film, not just horror, which is really dry in comparison.

I still think the video game figure route makes a tremendous amount of sense, I just wish they would pick better licenses.

I can't imagine how Freddy figures are still needed in the market; there have been several of them, how many more do we need, really?

I know that TRU carries more of the collector oriented lines, so that's a plus. But there isn't much out there these days, for horror fans or anybody else, IMHO.

Zombie Ed is a no go I'm assuming by now. The market is getting rough now a days, with places like Spencers and Hot Topic beginning to not stock action figures. Kaybees Toys, is long gone, so all we really have are FYE's, Toys R' Us Outlets, and Comic Shops really. There are a ton of films I would like to have figures from, but most of them wouldn't make much sense at the moment. I am glad we're getting more Freddys though.

Why even have this page anymore? ??
They never update or answer questions.....The die hard fans asked for
over two years the status of Zombie Ed from Shaun of the Dead.. w/o an answer.. but, they release crappy figures like Boondock Saints???

Even their regular website doesn't show all release info .. I just stumbled upon the El Super Beasto figures by chance.. You'd think Neca would have some alertng fans of new releases!

Hey, thanks. Took about 2 1/2 hours to do the entire outfit. Make-up and all. You can't see it too well in the pics but I even had chunks of glass sticking outta my face.

Tyler FYE was really great when we had one. I bought a lot from them. Sadly they closed down about six months ago.

TRU is now going to be caring more stuff for collectors. So you will see alot more movie stuff in the coming years.Too bad you dont like Twilight because I know TRU is carring all twilight figures.

With Spencers i never buy figures there inless there on sale.I buy alot of my FX lights from there tho. However in my mall FYE is right next too Spencers.FYE sells there figures for less then Spencers. So i buy alot from FYE figure wise.

Yeah, the price difference has always ercked me a little. It's only two or three bucks a figure but when you buy several at a time it can really add up. Now that my Spencers is nothing BUT shitty gag gifts and titty toys I'm forced to turn to TRU. They've always had good prices but not nearly enough in movie figure selection. Though they seem to be doing better.

Took my once a month trip outta the jungles of oklahoma and to the big city. Discovered my Spencers has official stopped carrying toys all together. :( Though I had some really nice luck at TRU. Picked up the two new Arnie T2 figs plus an Isaac Clark. Had only a couple super small nitpicks about accessories but all the paint looks really good and I'm super happy with em.

There hasn't been much going on with me, just shopping for toy tanks for my custom Tank Girl figure, and accessories to go along with it. I really do want to get my hands on the Boondock Saints figures, but being that I work for NECA, I'll just wait for them to kick me down some for free ;-) But seriously, I need that Bioshock Bouncer figure.

Pissed away 449.99 on The Hot Toys Dark Knight Tumbler (was paid with left over birthday cash so no biggie). Found a Cole Train Gears of War Figure, bought 7 Duncan YoYos, T2 Arnold With the Gatling Gun a 1/6 Scale Tank for the Tank Girl custom that was made for me, a Hellboy Mezit, an Alice Cullen figure, and I bought underwear.
