Hey NECA, check this link out: http://kotaku.com/5311461/loads-of-new-square-enix-toys

Looks like Square Enix will be trying their hands on the RE 5 franchise. Beat them with your mad sculpting skills! (Albert Wesker figure, please!)

I was just thinking . . . why the hell doesn't the man or machine Arnie come with a switchblade knife? Wouldn't that be a little more appropriate for the scene the toy is depicting? I may have to makeone for mine when I get it.

I neverthought I'd say this . . . but the Wonder Twins seems cool. Here's the link to the sdcc set. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QglwWTgCE3o&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Ftoynewsi%2Ecom%2Fnews%2Ephp%3Fcatid%3D10%26itemid%3D14685&feature=player_embedded

Thomas- I definitely agree with you; the limited numbers thing pretty much ensures constant selling out each time.

And if anybody is interested, BBTS has the new Cinema of Fear figures in stock; they're out of the set and of Jason, but have the chick and Freddy. The set is up for pre-order again though.

I think we'll get all four Busters without a doubt. I mean, look at the motu line. By limiting the quantity and the time of release each figure has huuuge demand thrust upon it. They sell out period. So I doubt the line will be canceled before we get the main line up.

I think the only catch will be dealing with the ebay scalpers if you don't get one at the time of release.

I'm not sure what the 12'' release schedule will be, but I think we'll find a lot more at SDCC here in a week or so.

And I still have my NECA ghostbusters figures. They are MOC, aside from some sticker residue. I got them REALLY cheap cos my buddy worked at a Suncoast (remember those?) and got a 40% discount on non-film merchandise. I got the whole set really cheap. I always liked them, but I still wish NECA went with the "happy" Stay Puft face as that's how he's remembered.

Also I too want the four main Ghostbusters and Louis Telly figure! I think it's about time we all own a Rick Morainis figure lol.
And I guess I should give the line more hope then downing it all the time, I mean life is full of chances right ? Whatever happens, happens but let's just pray we get all four Ghostbusters.

You make a very good point Mr. M.
I guess this will be the first time we are getting the likeness of the movie Ghostbusters that I am so worried that if they release a 12 inch Ray when will they release a 7 inch Ray and if they release a 7 inch Winston and they release a 12 inch Peter when will they release a 7 inch Peter ? I also pray they line wont die down. I didn't look at it from shipping and handling point of view but now that I do I think I know what you mean.
Does anyone still have their Ghostbusters figures from NECA just wondering and striking conversation ? Are they in or out of the box ?

Soul Man- I haven't seen any place for pre-orders thus far as this is going to be a mattycollector.com exclusive. Other sites like BBTS might end up with the line too, but I'm guessing it would be really expensive as it would be after they get the figures themselves. I don't know when pre-orders start, but i'm guessing more in the lines of Fall (September at the earliest, I'd guess). As for SDCC Egon, i'm sure they won't have any pre-orders for him until he goes onsale on 8/3.

I think the figures per month/every other month is a solid idea. Ya gotta think, if folks want to buy all four busters, you're looking at at least 80 bucks, and that's not including S&H. I think they're doing this to help spread out the cost of these figures. Maybe if the line is a hit, they could ship out to retailers later on? I think that could be a definite maybe, but don't quote me on that.

I am slightly worried that the line could die, but at this point, I just want the four main busters and anything after that is purely bonus in my eyes. I'd LOOOOOOOVE to get a Louis Tully in workout jumpsuit though. lol Or a Louis Tully with "awkward party dancing action!" He could come with generic pain pills and some food from his party! lol

And thanks! I'll be checking for messages!

They also said they are going release Gozer and the terror dogs and Stay Puff but they are going to wait since NECA did an amazing job and the figures are technically not that old.

Jul 8 2009 2:39 PM

Also Mr. M I got your list so I will be replying to you shortly.
Also Tyler they said they are making figures from The Real Ghostbusters but since they are releasing a figure per month time will tell when they will release them.
A Man With A Modest Soul

Jul 8 2009 2:38 PM

Mr. M do you know by any chance where we can pe order them ? I really would like to pre order them before late July.
I also apologize I didn't know you were telling Tyler about the figures lol I blame myself for writing a novel in a half rant.

Jul 8 2009 2:36 PM

Well what i heard was that all the ghost NECA made. There going to remake them all?

What about the cartoon characters?
A Man With A Modest Soul

Jul 8 2009 2:36 PM

Tyler from what I know Matty Mattel wants to make figures from both Ghostbusters films ( and they said they supposedly have the license for a third film if made), The Real Ghostbusters and recent video game.
I don't know if they are making all of them 7 inch and 12 inch because when I saw the back package of Egon/Slimer it said that they will be releasing a 12 inch Ray in September which means that if they are going to release one figure per month which was they had said chances are of us getting a 7 inch Ray might be very slim. They can release a 7 inch Peter and then a 12 inch Winston or maybe a 12 inch Janine Melnitz and 7 inch Louis. I think this the route they are going.
Yes with every Ghostbuster figure they will release a ghost from the movie, cartoon and video game.
I see many problems with the line already.
I mean I know their are some people who just like the figure aspect but I am die hard Ghostbuster fan. They are huge improvement over Kenner but they are no where near as good as NECA. The figures don't have bases or accessories.
And I don't know about you guys but selling one figure just once a month is stupid idea. Like I had mention before, they can release maybe 5 figures each month and then cancel the line right smack in the middle. And we probably wont have all the Ghostbusters figures. We might get a 7 inch Egon, 12 inch Ray a 7 inch Ray and then out of no where the Mayor or Janine and then boom.
Also I don't like the idea we have to order these figures online. These figures should easy enough for fans to purchase anywhere. I highly doubt these figures will become collector's items. And I can promise by the time they release the Real Ghostbuster figures I'll 50 and gray.
Mr. Meyattman (Pseudo Professor on the Rise!)

Jul 8 2009 2:22 PM

Tyler- The plan is to make all four Ghostbusters. All of the actors are on board and last I read, Murray just needs to approve his sculpt. The plan is to release them every other month and yes, each ghostbuster comes with a ghost or some sort of accessory (Ray has a large GB logo I believe). This makes the $20 price tag a bit easier to swallow.
Tyler(gambit19896) Spence

Jul 8 2009 1:41 PM

Are they making the whole gang of ghostbusters in 7in form or just some of them?If there making just some of them, then im not going to wrry about this line AT ALL.

Also what is this i am hearing that there also making some ghost to?Along with cartoon verizons of everything.
A Man With A Modest Soul

Jul 7 2009 8:14 PM

I find it a bit odd that Matty Mattel does not have the figure up for pre-order yet. Hell when I go on their site they don't have information on The Ghostbusters.
The packaging well, eh I would have prefer a clam shell and the box is too bulky to display and I really don't like those flip things attached to the back of the box so I might just open him.
I wish Slimer came with some accessories or better looking stand.
And I wonder why they are making a 7 inch Egon and then jump to 12 inch Ray.
Also I know you guys told me that you have to order Egon/Slimer on Matty Mattel site but if their figure is not there by August (since the figure is due on August 3rd) is their any other place on line to order it ?
Or is their a special section on Matty Mattel that I am not looking at ?
Thomas

Jul 7 2009 3:09 PM

I was really excited about the GB line right up until they released pics of the finished figs. Having been spoiled by neca for damn near ten years the GB figs just look like crap. I don't mean to rain on anybodys parade but 20 bucks or more is a bit steep for something that has a wal-mart esque toy isle quality to it.

Checked TRU and they have em priced at 46 for the set. Three figures for 40 bucks and no shipping fee through the bay. That makes em about 13 bucks a piece. So I guess I got em at a 6 dollar discount.

My avatar . . . . is a pic of McClane from Die Hard with the hair of Riggs from Lethal Weapon. I made it with paint.net. It's an alter ego I use on some message boards, Riggs McClane. When I made it I giggled all day. Yeah, I'm reeeal mature. lol
A Man With A Modest Soul

Jul 7 2009 1:01 AM

Thomas if you do not mind me asking who is that as your Myspace icon. I thought that was Scott Bakula of Quantum Leap fame as John McClane. I guess if local toy stores do not carry NECA figures that is the first sign of them going out of business.
Thomas

Jul 7 2009 12:04 AM

Sadly the stores that use to sell neca have either gone under or no longer carry them here. Plus toysrus in my area has never had neca on the self. I've pretty much always paid around $15 to $18 for my figs when they were around. So I've been forced into buying over the net.

$40 is for all three figures in series one plus free shipping. Bigbadtoystore and most of ebay have the set for around 50 bucks. So I went ahead and got em.
A Man With A Modest Soul

Jul 7 2009 12:02 AM

I agree with Mr. M 100%.
Also Mr. M can you do me a favor and send me a message on Facebook or Myspace of all the movies your selling and how much. I wanted to know that even though their used are they in good condition with discs and no scratches ?
Also The Godather trilogy is the original DvD set black cover or the restoration version ? Please get back to me when you can, thanks man.
