Organization Description
URUK is a relatively young organization (it has started with its activities in February, 2004, and it has been registered since July 2005), however, it is made of experienced individuals that have been making impact to the cultural and NGO life of Banja Luka and wider area through their work in other organizations and projects from the previous periods until today. The primarily reason for the foundation of URUK is the lack of adequate framework for initiating the urban culture mechanism and cooperation with similar organizations in Europe that we have had contacts before. Thanks to the mentioned contribution of individuals from URUK, the organization has gained trust and support of independent and urban artists, activists and organizations in Banja Luka and the wider area.
P.S.Uruk was an ancient city of Sumer and later Babylonia, situated east of the present bed of the Euphrates and west of the Tigris river, on the line of the ancient Nil canal, in a region of marshes, some 30 km east of As-Samawah, Al-Muthanna, Iraq. The modern name Iraq is thought to be derived from the name Uruk. At its height, Uruk probably had 50,000–80,000 residents living in 6 square kilometres of walled area, the largest city in the world at its time.

Hey!, ljudi prvi utorak 13-ti oktobar otvaranje sezone nam je doneo prvu kishu ove jeseni a prosli utorak nam je doneo prvi sneg. M smo jedva dosli na Akademiju (smrznutih faca i bez ushiju) i ocekivali smo nece niko doci... ma ko ce da se mrdne sa gajbe po snegu i hladnoci jos iscimali i ``Irie Revolution SS `` (prijatelje iz Novog Sada) da nam gostuju.......
Kad cudo se desilo jos uvek nemogu da verujem, dosli ljudi i to preko 50 neki cak iz Panceva...mnogi ostali do 4 ujutru... Pa Vi svi koji ste bili svaka VAM chast Vi ste neverovatni izgleda da smo ipak bili u pravu kada rekosmo da je neka nova energija prisutna.
Ali idemo dalje ,sledeci utorak 10-ti novembar u goste nam dolaze ljudi koji vec vise od jedne decenije haraju mix pultovima kako ovde tako i u inostranstvu , ljudi koji su nam dali prvi i drugi reggae festival u Srbiji , ljudi koji su organizovali velike koncerte poput Gentlemana, Capletona ,Prince alla-e ... i vrteli vinyl-e na tim dogadjajima , ljude cije je ime TRENCH TOWN ROCKERS ! Ovog utorka oseticete u vazduhu ``Brning Vinyl`s`` i svi Vi koji dodjete bicete blagosloveni blazenstvom zvukova exskluzivno selektovanih gramofonskih plocha ...

Kako je Akademija underground klub barem sto se Wadade tice za ovu sezonu mozemo obecati true roots and new UK dub sound (underground reggae sound).
