More On Music News: Joey D, Lead singer for The New Hard Rock Band "Love & Opium" From New Bedford, MA, Joey D The Opium Fest 2010 at The New Wave Cafe on 9/11/10 Will Sell out! It’s Been a Long, Long Time since Joey D has performed in his hometown of New Bedford, MA.

After moving back from Miami, FL to take care of his late mother Irene (The Queen) de Medeiros who died after a long battle with lung cancer . It was an emotional time for Joey writing the record and caring for his mom. After returning from Miami he was struck by a truck his 3rd day back . And had an emergency back operation, and battling his own demons & depression. Was the hardest thing he had to do in his life. Joeys said this mad him stronger and made for a great record . There are songs on this CD that are very deeply private and emotional songs he wrote for his mom, (Irene) his daughter( Jessica) And girlfriend (Amanda) Joey says it will be hard on 9/11/10 to sing these songs . But he knows that the ones who Truly Love Him Will Be There In Spirit! And will continue to pray for all of them! He says he’s looking forward to seeing lots of old friends and "Blind Rhino" fans and new Love & Opium Fans.
