JUNE 16th 2009!! After a strong first album release entitled, "Endangered Species," Nickodemus is finally ready to unleash the second solo album, "SUN PEOPLE!" Inspired by the big fireball in the sky & some wonderful people, it features some uplifting dance music from all parts of the World including Guinea, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Romania, India, Turkey, UK & his hometown in Brooklyn, NYC! Some of the original Endangered Species cast is on the album including Jay Rodriguez, Quantic, Hector "Tempo" Alomar & the Candela Allstars, Zeb, Nappy G & Real Live Show. New additions to the signature Nickodemus sound on "Sun People" include Guinean born singer Ismael Kouyate, Indian classical & pop singer Falu, Richard Shepherd of Radio Mundial, Brazilian born singer Liliana of the band Maracatu, the versatile voice of Nuriya, the younger members of Taraf de Haidouks & The New York Gypsy Allstars.
Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by! My real name is Nico... Nickodemus is a "Nick" name given to me at an early age. I am not Greek, but my journey started in Queens, so I love my Mediterranean cousins ;) Been dancing since birth, spinning records since 14, producing events since age 16 & producing music from about 20 on... I've produced, co-produced & released about 40 original tunes, 30 or so remixes, 10 compilation CD's and 2 full length solo albums called " ENDANGERED SPECIES" & SUN PEOPLE (both of which have full remix albums to compliment. Music has clearly been my passion. Getting people together with music (aka Turntables on the Hudson & Coney Island Love) is one of my favorite things to do! Turntables on the Hudson is one of NYC's longest running party & I'm proud to say alongside my partners Mariano & Nappy G & the whole crew, we've always kept things funky & fun for everyone!! We've entered our 11th Year of events & we're still going strong, so when in NYC, please swing on by!! In the player their's some of the latest music I produced/ co-produced/ remixed... As you can hear, it comes from many different influences. Funk, Soul & Hip Hop is where my musical journey began. Fortunately, DJ'ing has brought me all over the globe since 96, so it's really helped broadened my horizons onto music from everywhere, but I like to produce music for the dancefloor!
