Obviously Odium means a couple of things... most people mistake it as a synonym
for hate but this is not always the case. It can mean enduring hate for something
shitty you caused and there are two directions this can take you...
1) It can pull you down into a subhuman form that is not naturally you. you
swirl, dwindle and die.
2) It can lift you up to a perch you've never sat ... Reliving past endeavors
can make a person learn and evolve into a better person spiritually and mentally.
Of course life is a constant flow of these experiences and one must decide
between the two.
Odium is enduring, enduring is existing... we just fuck up a lot.
It's funny how life works out at times... one can only imagine where
a guitar will take you. Odium is a story of 4 men that have dedicated their lives
to an art that can, at times, be impossible to master. Longevity and chemistry
is vital to a long standing, productive live act and Odium carries the advantage
of genetic intervention. Four brothers coming together to create a largely ignored
and original sound.
The gentlemen that have produced the music you will hear have produced a combined
13 professionally recorded, full length albums, played along side acts such
as Slipknot, Godsmack, Static X, Ace Frehely, Dope, Stone Sour among others,
as well as lending a helping hand to countless acts across the Central Time
Zone and beyond with the hope of building a music scene the Midwest can relish
in. So far, so good.
For the past 9 years Odium has concentrated on spawning the Midwest's
most innovative music to date. Touting a stage show that rivals most, Odium
utilizes light, sound and raw emotion in order to produce a sonic orgasm that
has led to over 10,000 sales of their debut album and sophomore Orange Album.
While only playing a few shows a year in Des Moines, Odium loves to travel.
Not the "pack yourself in a mini-van and starve to death whilst earning
no money" traveling... more like the drive to Arizona because hundreds
of people begged to you to. These fellows have been around the block...
the focus is delivering the music to where.
Willing to travel to the four corners of the earth to find success (they've
already done this at least five times over) they find solace in the achievements
that some say are timeless (no shit... they actually said "timeless").
Is this enough? Hell no. Currently, Odium is preparing to record yet another
full length album... make that a double. Due to be released in the fall
of 2009, Odium will be releasing a 2 disc set of brand spanking new tunes...
the result of a 2 year odyssey to explore what great music is all about. No
genre is out of reach as the dedication has led to the construction of Odium's
own Shed Studios, equipped with state of the art equipment. It was the only
way to produce as much music as Odium can create.
