Agenda (2009)

Posted Aug.12.2008
Track complete, mastered and finalized.

Affair To Remember

Posted Dec.02.2007
A new track which I'm still working on and should be finished whenever. I used stacks of synths to layer up numerous instances of attack-transients to punch and cut like a knife. Lots and lots of other synth layers playing the same chords ... each element independently processed and positioned in the stereo-field.

Tranquil (remixed 2007)

Track & vocals written by: Kou (Kou Music).
Guitars: Alan Moon.
Programming, sound-design, mixing, & mastering: OmarHash.
TOTAL RUNTIME: 4min 01sec.
STYLE: Electric-soul, driving-synco bassline, synth pads, OmarHash's signature chord stabs, real strings (provided by Collective Soul), real drums.
TEMPO: 86BPM.

Tutumaraia

This track goes synth-syncopation crazy from the 3:34 mark.
Background vocals by Kou (Kou Music).
Vocoder: OmarHash.
Programming, sound-design, mixing, & mastering: OmarHash.
TOTAL RUNTIME: 8min 27sec.
STYLE: Virtual Enigma-esque + Cruise-driving bassline with rolling synth arpeggio-sequence.
TEMPO: 89BPM.

Hedinas Part 1 & 2

Programming, sound-design, mixing, & mastering: OmarHash.
Acoustic & Rock Guitar: Alan Moon.
Electric Guitar & Eventide: Phil Western.
TOTAL RUNTIME: 12min 44sec.
STYLE: Driving electronic epic
with serious utto-may-shin.
TEMPO: 112BPM.

Highly Recommended Classics...

..ONE, TWO, THREE

1961 classic with James Cagney's last performance in motion picture. Clever comedy -- you'll laugh your ass off.

Berlin, after the Second World War: C.R. MacNamara presides over the Coca-Cola branch of Germany. He is working hard and trying his very best to impress the Atlanta headquarters, since he has heard that the European headquarters in London will soon be looking for a new head. Now, Coca-Cola boss Mr. Hazeltine asks MacNamara to take care of his daughter Scarlett, who is going to take a trip to Europe. Scarlett, however, does not behave the way a young respectable girl of her age should: Instead of sightseeing, she goes out until the early morning and has lots of fun. Finally, she falls in love with Otto Piffl, a young man from East Berlin and a flaming Communist, and marries him surprisingly. When MacNamara hears of this, he intrigues quite a bit with the help of his assistant Schlemmer to get Piffl into an East German prison, but when he also gets note of his Boss and wife coming over to visit their daughter in Berlin, he needs to get Piffl out again, convert him to Capitalism and present him as a fine young and noble husband in order to get his London post, and all of that very quick!

..MONSIEUR VERDOUX

Charley Chaplin's best movie he ever did in 1947. He does not play the tramp. Talkie movie ... about a man who marries rich women in France, kills them, takes their money, and runs back to Switzerland to support his sick wife. Based on a true story of France first serial killer Henri Desiré Landru. Comedy/drama/tragedy - MASTERPIECE!!!!

And more films and documentaries too long to be listed here, but you get the idea ;)

Flashback Project (New update: Oct.11.2008)

We are supporting the Flashback Project, click here to find out more

From mid 70’s to today, for the FIRST TIME the TRUE story of the UK black music revolution from the music leaders who were there doing it. Narrated by Leee John (Imagination) and following the path of his life, an unusual destiny involving major artists from the last 40 years, there are more discoveries of UNTOLD Stories from the black reggae, soul and pop era of the 70’s and 80’s.

The Flashback documentary will compile recent interviews from Leee John, artists and relevant people (fashion/DJs/producers etc) from that era, intercut with Hits from the 1975-85 glorious decade.

Street Sounds HipHop Electro-9

Electro-9 is part of Street Sounds' huge electro-hiphop compilation series from 1982-1989. Electro back then was electric funk and hiphop music, mainly for break-dancing, bee-bopping, and body-popping. The word 'Electro' today has been hijacked in the form of 4/4 dance music and not anywhere near its true roots. I have recorded Electro-9 directly from the 1985 record, digitally restored as much as I can, and widened the stereo field, among other things.

The Kitsilano Fires

I did the sound-design for the latest documentary about the Kitsilano fires which happened on August 4, 2005. It was shown on CTV and Bravo.

Here's the link to the 5-minute trailer .... you'll need QuickTime-6 or higher:

I hope you've got beefy speakers with good stereo-separation.

You can also access the trailer from my homepage...
www.CaveCyberNation.com

I was given 2 days to complete 30 minutes of sound-design this last weekend ... oh the pressure!

With the exception of dialogue, all sound-fx (explosions, winds, fires, trucks, sirens, footsteps, birds, crackling, debris, walla, etc) are fake and NOT part of the original footage ..... in order to enhance the excitement. All SFX and music editing, post mixing, heavy drinking, and mastering for television and DVD are done by me.

Music composed by Phil Western (former member of Skinny Puppy, Download, Off-&-Gone).

I AM AN IRAQI ELECTRONIC MUSICIAN & PRODUCER...

Lived in Baghdad, Iraq, until 7 years of age. Then lived in England and Canada for many years, and also lived in Scottsdale, Arizona, from 1989-2001. Now I'm living back in Canada ... in West Vancouver, British Columbia, working as a sound-designer for the film and video-game industries ... at the same time having general fun and leisure.

I produce and master music for various imaginary clients -- but most importantly for myself.

I used to mix music from records, however I got so bored of it, because the quality of vinyl degraded after a few plays, and the audio sounds seriously shitty after the fact. Of course, if the records are blaring ear-pounding loud to a live audience, then of course no one gives a damn about filthy sonics. Since I like to record my own mix-sets, I need crystal-clear, crisp sound in addition to the warmth present in vinyl, but never degrade in spectral quality over time. So I moved to the digital domain!

Now I like to mix from cd's, hard-drives, and software (yes, this future is in the now). There's nothing better than recording my own mix-sets which I program well and manipulate every track in ways that other DJ's couldn't possibly conceive nor achieve live.

...Generic Producers Bore Me!

They lack extensive knowledge which dedicated producers and engineers have spent years sharpening their life-supporting skills in sound physics, design, production, mixing, and mastering. Of course, it is impressive of some generic-producers to write compose a lot of tracks or have that incredible ability to perform live and casting magical spells upon the dancing crowds ....... but this has been overdone ...... and nothing substantial has been done to elevate music art to the next undiscovered dimension, given Western music's limitation with the 7-note octave/scale. Thus I don't really care much about a lot of generic music produced today.

Practically, most generic-producers today have not evolved:

.... they're hanging on to an overdone and overplayed art & technique that has become stagnant in creativity while nothing is being done about it ... they seem to be content with the "me too" approach in production & composing techniques, without challenging themselves to stand out from the rest;

.... they justify themselves with statements like, "we're all about making hits and what's popular" (Oh! And I suppose that justifies the dumbing-down of music-listening population!?! Then whatever happened to thinking outside of the box?);

.... and they fail to realize that they're practically dispensable. In no time they're going to be replaced by the next generation of wizard producers who are young, fresh, highly skilled, and outlandishly technical and magically/uniquely creative in every aspect of sound & music.

However, I thrive to be a great scientist of acoustics, professional engineer, and producer who forever continues to learn and understand the endless supply of knowledge in science-&-physics-of-sound and theories of music, continuously trying to break new grounds by experimenting, using every kind of technology possible, coming up with clever tricks, programming, and sound-designing the world's most advanced musical tracks with timeless life-spans -- for the deepest joy and pleasure of pure listening purposes.

If there's one thing I like to share, then it's my electrifying buzz which I radiate the groove onto you when listening to my tracks with your undivided attention and concentration ... vibrating and oscillating you with electro-magnetic currents from the sound frequencies which you hear.

So... I really do love pajamas, shorts, t-shirts, sandals, and healthy life surrounded by music and good looking natural girls!
Good people all around.

I Love Cats...

Say hallo to my liiidle pussies:
Malik (PooPoo) & Mika (PeePee).

I'm an Iraqi-Canadian .... meaning that I'm a hyphenated identity who's seriously stuck in the twilight zone, right in the middle of it.

I want to be the world's first Iraqi electronic producer. I've been raised as a realistic modern Westerner, with the feeling of being a Caucasian trapped in a middle-eastern body. North American culture is my world which definitely has made me to be a very unique, different, and highly intelligent person you'll ever meet.

I'm very friendly person who gives everyone a chance. Because people have taken advantage of me and mistaken my kindness for weakness, I have become a very non-trusting, anal-retentive, compulsive-obsessive, and ironically more friendly and passionate person, with a weird sense of humor and with a dual personality that swings sanely into moods from one end of the spectrum to the other, while chasing nuns & nurses around the park.

I question everything in any given culture and refuse to conform to anything that has been conditioned to us all by means of tradition. I am suspicious of authorities' scheme of problem-reaction-solution. I am not a sheep in this sheeple world. I am not blind. I am logical, realistic, and extremely philosophical person who does not believe in God at all the ways mankind setup religions by means of divide-conquer-rule.

I'm an extreme believer and follower of originality, passion, humanity, unity, and the non-suffering of all animals and species. Darwinism, patriotism, and protectionism can all kiss the entire circumference of my rosy non-elitist ass!!

Passive resistance is within my spirit, when in conflict. Natural justice and democracy, karma, aura, awareness and non-ethnocentric eternal love are THE very fabrics of my soul.

Who I'd like to meet:

Some Qualities Which I Look For...

  • Jedi.
  • Sane and friendly who's imaginative, creative, down to earth, open-minded, and talkative about everything/anything without pulling teeth ... who listens to what others have to say without interrupting or talking over their heads.
  • Loves usic, music, and music.
  • Highly intelligent, logical, philosophical, and twilight-zonical.
  • With common sense & courtesy.
  • Dreamer.
  • Into Reading.
  • Movies buff
  • Get-togethers.
  • Likes to meditate & being boring for peace of mind.
  • Open minded.
  • Into all kinds of multicultural food (especially spicy Thai).
  • Loves animals, pets, animal-rights supporter, and must not stand the suffering of any animal.
  • Loves to travel.
  • Independant & free-thinker.
  • Must taste the soup before putting more salt in it.
  • Accepting of every kind of race, blood, and nationality.
  • Non materialistic and no high-maintenance.
  • Non thieving, scandalous, envious, evil-eye, and sticky-fingered.
  • Non psychotic, with lots of baggage and nonsensical personal issues, nor out of control.

Really it doesn't matter ... just hang out with me and we'll figure each other out at the end of the day. Bottom line, we can still be very good friends.

Love to meet the following people & shoot the breeze...

  • JACK TRIPPER (John Ritter)
