The seed for Optimo was planted in late 2004 when similar ads introduced drummer, Matt Niemi and guitarist, Matt Eaton. The jams started in the back-streets of Allston, MA, but soon moved to the basement-built and much-loved "Biosphere" in Somerville, MA. Fast-forward a year, in steps slapping thump-man Mo Murillo to add his signature funk and complete the low end, and soon to follow, Jeff Vangel with his natural vocals & lyrics.
Optimo now lives and breathes in Boston, MA + Brooklyn, NY and plays a blend of hard rock with occasional jam leanings. Having played at a number of clubs in the greater Boston area, Optimo are ready to expand into colleges, bars, dives, halls, palladiums, amphitheaters, stadiums, and super-domes across greater New England, New York, and beyond.
