  • Bio

.. From the POSTCARD ELBA blog: "The musical vision of Jeremy Brightbill, the group has shifted from its lo-fi Bedhead-esque experimental singer-songwriter origins to a swaggering mash-up of the best of 90's alt-rock. From that period’s awkward gangly jangle of Merge’s catalog to the superglue the amps to 11 bombast of Sub Pop, Panic makes the connection seamlessly and naturally, sounding familiar and fresh at the same time. When the indie rock world (and for that matter the pop world) wring out the last drop of 80s nostalgia and are ready to move onward to appreciating the 90s unironically, they’ll find their new favorite band in Panic Strikes a Chord."

I had the funniest miscommunication last night. I was on the way to a party in a car crammed full of too many people and one of them said their ex was moving to Bloomington Indiana. it went like this ...

"Oh, I know a few bands she should check out! One's called Tremendous Fucking and another is Panic Strikes a Chord. they're an old friends bands."

"Oh, How do you know this person."

"Jeremy had bands in my hometown. His band Watership Down was the first show I ever went to. I had a crush on him, but we were just friends. He had a girlfriend and was older."

"So you never found out if his band name was fitting."

"What? Watership Down? What does that mean?"

    "Huh huh."

"What?! Tell me what's Watership Down besides the book? (pause) Oh! You mean the OTHER band name!"

I'll be back from this trip to the south at the end of August. Maybe in October when your playing out a couple of nights, that could be cool.

Jeremy, I just got a new doc kit. We should get together in Bloomington and make a video. Three Days with Panic? It would be fun and good to hang out again.
