Passing Clouds awakened one day in 2006 from the collective consciousness of a number of people in the Dalston seeking peace, unity, creative expression and a sense of community.
Meditations were answered when a premises on Richmond Road became available to them to house what would become a profound journey through the rich cultural offerings of the local area and the wider world as artists and other conscious people became drawn to the project.
To this day, Passing Clouds represents and champions the beauty of interaction between diverse cultures and facilitates communication between creative disciplines and community-focused pursuits, in particular providing a platform for musical and artistic expression, conscious education, social welfare and above all, harmony amongst people.
The community celebrates this through daily evening events that consist of film screenings, talks and gatherings in collaboration with local action groups Hackney Solidarity (Mondays, Tuesdays), intimate concerts and recitals ranging from traditional Asian and West African music to folk music and jazz (Wednesdays), live music showcases featuring some of the finest talent touching on genres from every corner of the globe (Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays), conscious cinema and jam session (Sundays).
Our musicians are a family of revolutionary minded-people that spreads its wings across London as part of a growing movement seeking an alternative to commercially and individually-minded society that threatens to destroy both us and the planet we live on. This movement shares a common vision of a harmonious and holistic approach to community-building that is environmentally, socially and spiritually sustainable. It includes activists, environmentalists, peace-seekers, healers, story tellers, spiritualists, teachers, explorers, thinkers and doers.
If you feel you have skills, energy, creativity and positive vibes to contribute to this project, we would be very glad to hear from you, whoever you are.

I lost a pair of vintage pilot goggles from WWII on Friday's party. They are my father's and of huge sentimental value, and I thought I'd take a shot and see if any kind soul handed them in. Please let me know...they are pretty distinctive so perhaps some on remembers them, even accidentally taking them.
