dj paul leath aka Leathal, Hot- Circuit and Menace -
DJs Christopher and Paul Leath combine their respective talents to become tag team "Leathal." As part of the respected alternative label El Otro Mundo, both are independently strong DJs in their own right having developed their sounds over number of years and traveled worldwide to enhance their individual musical palettes. This new monthly night promises to be refreshing one. Also, staple DJ's of the SF underground scene Adnan and Solar will be adding their flavor to the mix. (JO)

Alias
Leathal (Tag Team with DJ Christopher)
Menace (Dub/Reggae DJ name)
Hot Circuit (Collective - DJ Christopher, The Rythmist, Qorser)
DJ Paul Leath started his ambition to dj after hearing and watching a crowd with Jeno and Garth
throwing down at a Wicked. Folks of all backgrounds, colors, orientations raising their hands in
air and that is when it hit! 1994 started an onslaught of countless hours playing new vinly bought
week in and week out. After a couple of years of house parties and small undergrounds, Paul started
organising his own parties. All of the dj's he met during that time were all influences or friends
from all over the world. In 1996, Paul started playing out at local clubs all around the Bay Area,
from Velvet Shop (M3) to Static (Sutekh and Safety Scissors) in SF. By 1997 he was playing in Europe and successfully making return
trips ever since. 1999 Paul released his first track under the well respected Resource Records Label
run by Chris Jackson. During that same year he joined his brother's collective, El Otro Mundo Productions,
which was a focus on downtempo, ambient, jungle, drum and bass, art, events and eventually became a
full fledge international label and collective.
In 2001, Paul made the move to becoming a full time international dj and moved to Manchester, UK.
A very risky move at the time due to the current world situation but turning out to be a great
journey into life in Manchester and Europe. Eventually catching on in Australia
and the rest of the US abroad, the constant tours and gigs kicked off something wicked!
During that time, EOM Sessions (online radio) has expanded and hasn't stopped since 1999.
Released music on Resource Records, doBox Recordings and El Otro Mundo Productions
Toured in Spain,Leeds, Leigh, London,Manchester, Sheffield, Bury, Cambridge, England,Cannes, Paris, France, Amsterdam, Rodderdam,
Netherlands,Frankfurt, Germany,Australia, Italy, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Denver,
Seattle, LA, Reno, Rochester, New York, Boulder,South Beach,San Francisco, San Jose, Mt.View,
Sunnyvale,Santa Clara, LDP, Palo Alto, Santa Cruz, Burlingame, Oakland, Berkley, Humboldt, etc...
After a much need break from constant touring and concentrating on production an array of sounds
are due to stretch the levels of norm in electronic music.

Monkee Platez next offering is the OUT NOW 'Fulltilt EP' from Glasgow outfit Mr Hajika.
4 slabs of groove driven tech house...
Fulltilt original is a chugging, bass heavy track with a subtle musicality that develops throughout. Dr. Bergers remix is a stripped down deeper edit, with an infectious flow that maintains the essence of the original. Similarly to Dr. Berger, Alex Fiction strips back the layers to uncover an electronic soul which builds into an intelligently emotive interpretation, if slightly twisted. Completing the package is 'Nitemoves' which shares the big sound of Fulltilt, but with a more progressive, melodic vibe."
