Aus diesen Gefühlszuständen entsteht die Musik der Band PaPerCuts aus Krefeld, die Elemente aus Gothic Rock, TripHop und Alternative zu ihrem eigenen Sound vermischt.
Der Bandname, ein Wortspiel aus „paper cuts“ und „pay per cuts“, symbolisiert all die Verletzungen, die man im Leben erfährt. Schmerzhaft und lästig wie Papierschnitte, hinterlassen manche für immer ihre Narben. Darauf baut das gesamte Konzept der Band auf und durchzieht Texte, Musik, Artwork und Bandoutfit.
Ende 2006 von PaleViolettEve und Nihil als Projekt gegründet, um die eigenen emotionalen Konflikte musikalisch zu verarbeiten, wuchs man mit der Zeit zu einer richtigen Band heran und wurde 2007 mit dem Gitarristen Konstantin im Line-up vervollständigt, der die Band Anfang 2010 jedoch wieder verlässt. Seitdem bestreiten Pale und Nihil PaPerCuts zu zweit.
Im Oktober 2008 wurde das Debüt „Until It bleeds“ veröffentlicht und lies erahnen welchen musikalischen Stil PaPerCuts in Zukunft einschlagen würden.
Die vorliegende E.P. „Soulsick“ wurde im Spätsommer 2009 aufgenommen und überrascht mit reiferem Songwriting, cleveren Dynamikwechseln und neuen Stilelementen. Der Titel der E.P. ist Programm:
Fette und schräge Riffs wechseln sich mit melancholischen Lead-Gitarren ab,
begleitet von einem düsteren Bass und wilden Drums. Hypnotische Samples und Gothic-Keyboards sorgen für ein ständiges Auf und Ab in allen 6 Songs. Sängerin Pale weiß es gekonnt den Zuhörer mit ihrer leiden-schaftlichen Stimme mitzureissen.
Nach einem beachtlichen 8ten Platz beim Sonic Seducer Battle of the Bands 2008, zahlreichen Interviews und Reviews in Szenemagazinen nahm im November 2009 das Indie-Label Bensch Audio die Band unter Vertrag. Seitdem ist auch die Agentur Immortal Promotion als Partner für Promo und Booking zuständig.
Mit dem Release von „Soulsick", Ende November 2009, machen die ambitionierten Musiker einen wichtigen Schritt in ihrer jungen Karriere und präsentieren sich nun selbstbewusst der Szene.

The Revolution Music Label is pleased to announce THE release called the Beast Selects Best Metal CD. The CD is to Raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association World Wide. 100% of the proceeds of all Profits will go to MDA. There are many great artists that have donated songs to this project. These artists include Kick Axe, Tommy Vitali, Warmachine, Shangren, Skew Siskin, Angel of the Nightfall, Autumnis, Publik Parking, Agent Cooper, Warpath, Tony Smotherman and many many more artists.
