A guitar driven, progressive, instrumental version of all the above if played while sporting a mohawk and a butt-plug.
Pete was born in Burlington, Vermont to a very non-musical family, but HAD to start playing guitar when he heard Van Halen for the first time. By the mid ‘80s, Pete became consumed by guitarists such as George Lynch, Steve Vai, Randy Rhoads, Greg Howe, David Gilmour, Vinnie Moore, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Steve Morse.
While in college, Pete’s musical interests expanded to jazz and fusion and he played in both a heavy metal cover band and the school jazz ensemble. Pete graduated in 1990 with a B.S. in Communications and a minor in music.
In 1994, Pete and his brother, Jeff relocated to Baltimore, Maryland and soon formed “Kurgan’s Bane.” The “Bane” is a progressive hard rock project in which he is still involved today. They recorded three CDs entitled “Search from Sea to Sea (1997),” "The Future Lies Broken (2000)," and "Comouflaged In Static (2005)."
In the summer of 2006 Pete picked up a 7 string guitar out of curiosity and fell in love. Over the next year he wrote exclusively with the 7 string and in January of 2008 he decided to record another instrumental CD. His first solo CD was entitled, "Alone But Not Lonely (2002)." Again he asked Jeff and Luis to record the drums and bass. Pete also asked a local bass player named Michael Passen (Concrete Prophet) to help out on a few songs. In addition Pete was able to get Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Planet X, Alice Cooper, Billy Idol) to play a few keyboard solos on the project. Since all the music was inspired by people and events from his childhood Pete decided to call the disc “Childhood Memories.”
Thanks for the Add Brother!!! Yeah, I hacked all the hair off. Thankfully it grows really quickly, I went from a buzz cut to down my back in about a year and a half so it wasnt a big deal..
