Paatos
Paatos is a progressive oriented rock group made up of myself on guitars, Petronella Nettermalm vocals, Ricard Huxflux Nettermalm drums, and our
new addition, Ulf "Rockis" Ivarsson on bass. The band is currently recording and mixing its fourth studio album to be
released sometime next year.

The Island Project
The Island Project is what I do in the inbetween moments. So far it's mainly instrumental music played, recorded and mixed by me. There are occasional guest appearances from various collegues of mine, but the main idea is to play as much on my own as possible.Since I have my own studio, Elephant Culture Studios, there is the need to grow as en engineer along-side my striving to better myself as a guitarist, composer, and arranger. This serves as a great vehicle towards this end. I'll be puting up music on and off on this site. When and how much entirely depends on the availability of time and energy.

Newland
Newland is a fairly new quartet with two guitars, electric bass and drums. Joining me on guitar is Max Schultz, Svante Henryson plays electric bass and Peter Danemo plays drums. The band is very young and still in its early faze of construction. A recording is planned for the near future. Stay tuned!
The Bjærv Encounters
The Bjærv Encounters is a jazz quintet lead by saxophonist Robert Nordmark with Karl-Martin Almqvist on sax, Martin Höper on bass, Peter Danemo on drums, and myself on guitar. We just finished recording and mixing the bands first album. Stay tuned for release date and upcoming tour info.
Parachute Dilemma
Parachute Dilemma is an elctric oriented jazz group. The compositions are so far my own and the band apart from myself comprises Karl-Martin Almqvist on saxes, Svante Henryson on electric bass and Ricard "Huxflux" Nettermalm on drums. We are currently working on filling the keyboard chair.

Bio
Peter Nylander was born in Uppsala, Sweden, in the summer of 1970. However, most of his childhood and early adult years were spent living in USA and Italy. It was as a young teenager in Rome that his interest in playing music, and particularly the guitar, took shape. Growing up with a wide variety of musical styles and cultures, his musical studies took an equally broad path. While studying classical guitar, he took an interest in composition, which he studied after school hours with composer Roy Zimmerman. Here he delved into analysis of classical composition spanning Palestrina to Schönberg as well as Jazz harmony. All along Peter was listening to bands such as Pink Floyd, the Police, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and Miles Davis, to mention a few. This lead to the inevitable interest in the electric guitar and subsequently improvisation as a means of musical expression.
During high school his interest in Jazz soon took the overhand and he persued private studies with Italian Jazz guitarist Fabio Zeppetella. At this time, Peter befriended bassist and fellow student Matthew Garrison with whom he put together his first working Jazz group. After his high school graduation in 1989, Peter attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. There he pursued studies in Jazz performance, composition and arranging, culminating in a Bachelor of Music degree in 1995.
