Peter Ulrich: Enter the Mysterium
Peter Ulrich is the former drummer/percussionist of Dead Can Dance and a contributor to 4AD's This Mortal Coil project. In 1999 he released his first solo album - Pathways and Dawns - on the Projekt label, and this was followed in 2005 by his current album - Enter The Mysterium - on the City Canyons label. Peter's solo albums have gathered many great reviews, and his music - noted for its haunting melodies and atmospheric soundscapes - is widely expected to find its way into film or TV soundtracks in due course. Peter is currently working on compositions for his third solo album, also to be released under the City Canyons imprint - though no release schedule has yet been set.
I listened to March Of The Athiests, and I loved it ! I listened to the others. All very good music. Really reminded me of the good old goth days actually.
So, I think you said you were working on other stuff to be recently completed ? Is it with City Canyon ? And when is it to be released ?
Very cool to hear you worked in the old 4AD studio. ( I love anything 4AD.) That is too exciting. Really cool !!! That had to have brought back many memories.
Yes, I have crawled out of the dark and nearing the light again. Feels good.
Glad you shared that page with me. Good ,great, music, Peter !
Peter, that is awesome ! I will have to check that out ! Thanks for sharing.
Sorry about your Mother. But... you are a great son I'd have to say.
I am doing o.k. Actually, a whole lot better. The past 2 1/2 yrs have been sad and full of disappointment but now things are looking way up ! I know life has it's ups and downs and is what it is, but I am lucky to not have had a heart attack after all the negatives. I am glad it is soon over... Dec can't come fast enough. Hopefully when all this ends I can tour Europe in 2010. I want to bring my children to Norway. It is my dream for them.
It was really good to hear from you and I am very excited to hear your new music.
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...
Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
