About me: The 2009 PHX GMM was held on Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 on the North West corner of Third Street and Indian School Road. We marched at 4:20pm to an afterparty hosted by George & Dragon's Pub, where there were speeches by pot defense lawyer/ cannabis activist Marc Victor, Phoenix NORML Board Members, Tucson NORML founders, and the Marijuana Policy Project Campaign Manager Andrew Meyers. Male Pattern Radness (www.myspace.com/malepatternradness) and The Haymarket Squares performed! Approx. 400 crowd estimate.

The 2008 march was held on Saturday, May 3rd at 4:20pm, along with over 200 cities across the globe. The turnout was fantastic- an estimated 500 - 1,000 people marched for cannabis liberation along Indian School Road in central Phoenix. We had musicians, comics, hemp ice cream sandwiches & otter pops, tie dyed banners, beautiful protest signs, great music great people of all types; young, old, male, female, gay, straight, bisexual, Americans from around the country, immigrants from around the world, first-time marchers, experienced activists, medical marijuana patients, cancer survivors, politicians, voters, students, businessmen, the great people of Tucson NORML who took a journey into the Big City for the day, animal rights activists, TONS of media coverage, little to no police intervention, free magazines... I couldn't believe it when I read it, but on a you tube comment I read it and it said that Obama was considering legalization if he got a million hits on this number that they are giving out!!
