    Born in 1974 in Gostynin. At age 10, Piotr Tomaszewski recieved his first guitar tuition at a social centre in Plock. From 1990, while a student at the Fryderyk Chopin School of Music in Warsaw, Piotr Tomaszewski studied the guitar with Prof. Ryszard Balauszko, and completed his studies at the Bialystok branch of the Academny of Music in Warsaw under the same professor. Piotr Tomaszewski is a prizewinner of numerous awards. In 1988 Piotr Tomaszewski gained the top prize at the Guitar Competition in Warsaw and won 2nd Prize at the National Guitar Competition in Strzelce Krajenskie. In 1990 Piotr Tomaszewski was awarded 3rd Prize at the 5th International Guitar Competition "Krahow 90' (as the youngest competitor, the best of the Poles, and a recipient of a special award of the Argentinean Embassy) and 2nd Prize at the Polish Muic Schools Competition in Koszalin. In 1994 Piotr Tomaszewski received 3rd Prize at the Edmund Jurowski 'Silesian Guitar Autumn' International Competition in Tychy, and a year later won the International Guitar Competition 'Krahow 95' - receiving a guitar made by Manuel Contreras as part of my award. In 1996 Piotr Tomaszewski was awarded 2nd Prize at the 'Music and Song of Eastern Europe' Competition in Warsaw. The following year Piotr Tomaszewski won two further awards: at the Blas Sanchez Foundation's II International Competition in Ingenio (Gran Canaria) and at the VIII International Guitar Competition in Las Palmas. In 1998 Piotr Tomaszewski was recognised as the best guitarist at the International Competition for Musical Individualities in Lodz where he received 4th Prize and awards from the Polish Concert Agency and the Inter-Academy Department of Guitar. Other achievements include his participation in the 'Concert of the Year 96' at Polish Radio's Witold Lutoslwski' Concert Studio in Warsaw, Chairmanship of the International Guitar Competition of Ingenio (Gran Canaria) and two scholarships from the Polish Ministry of Art and Culture (1996/97) and the Spanish Government (1998/99). Piotr Tomaszewski has also taken master classes given by such renowned virtuoso guitarist as Ronald Dyens, David Russel, Jorge Morel, Jorge Cardoso, Costas Cotsiolis, Jad Azkoul, Carlos Oramas, Blas Sanchez and Robert Ausel. He has performed in Poland and abroad, among others in Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Spain, Italy and the Canary Islands. Piotr Tomaszewski records for Polish Radio and Television as well as Spain's Channel 10, and his repertoire consists of works from various epochs including those for guitar and orchestra.
