VIDEO FOR AROUND THE WORLD, on new release 'HYBRID VIGOUR'
BIOG:
Not ones for sensitive outpourings, wailing guitars, muffled bass, or deadpan drums, PLANETMAN have developed their own mix of dub-punk-rock and combined it with enough sheer energy to create a stageshow that is more than enough to incite a crowd!
Confident without the swagger, bold without being brash and an absolute delight to behold. This is the kind of music that simply makes you want to move. You might spill your pint dancing, and they might get a little naked, but that's all part of the fun. Punk isn't just a sound, it's an attitude that this turbo-sonic 4-piece live and breathe. A combination of the bands DIY ethic, unswerving willpower, and empty bank account helped them to record, mix and produce their current 6 track demo in just one day in the Welsh valleys.
If you corner frontman Magnus Jarlson he'll tell you that life is tough, and the music scene is even less forgiving, but he'd rather be here than anywhere else. So when PLANETMAN saw a major line-up change in 2003 there was fear that the party was finally over. But support from friends, fans and an International search landed Worcester Punk-Hero Johnny Enigma as a stand-in guitar for the Run To The Sun Fetsival in 2004, and Mr Bass himself Bryn Dogg dialed in the satnav and opened the doors to the South Wales scene as the Cardiff connection. What happens in Newquay stays in Newquay, but drummer Admiral Adz will testify that as the screams of the festival crowd died down the decision had already been made that the new line-up was here to stay.
If we're talking influences then there has to be some mention of The Minutemen, Sublime and QOTSA amongst many others. Their simple down-to-earth music is raw, passionate and real. Insightful lyrics and catchy guitar hooks made enough of a splash to get TROLLFACE on a white label release late in 2006. Now astoundingly positive industry feedback has been the catalyst to push them over the edge - a 4 track single set to release late summer 2007, rumours of an Autralian tour, and murmurings of an appearance at the NXNE festival in 2008!
When asked what they want to get out of their music, they reply "We've already got it. Now we just want more people to hear it so they can get it!" Are they THE ones to watch? Who knows, WATCH them and find out.
Admiral Adz lays it down on the Artillery, with plenty of covering fire from Bryn-Dogg and his Lengthy Boom Stick. As if that wasn't enough to have you up and on the floor, bouncing and rolling to their beats and basslines we have Jonny Enigma kicking licks from his Wicked 6er... a formidable combo, without doubt.
The final limb in this "Eight-fold Fist of Kung-Fu Rock" is Magnus, aiming at your heart and head with his trusty Dub Harmonica and Lyrical Katana. Together, they form an invincible alliance against the forces of drab, meaningless inanity.

It’s been far too long since I last said hello and so much has happened I thought it about time we said did.
We’ve changed a lot, now we are an “UltraModern, post-electro rock, post-nu rave behemoth where Muse and Mansun meet a Massive Attack with Duran Duran pop sensibilities, louder guitars, and a stunning female front person/guitar virtuoso”, or so we have been told.
I’d love to know what you’ve been up to since we disappeared into the dark damp studio cave, let us know how it’s going, I’m always up for a chat! Be good, and if you can’t be good, be lucky ;-) Dawn xx Scarlet/blonde
