AT LAST THE NU-COLORBLIND OPUS IS COMiiiiiiiiiING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Colorblind is coming back, 3 years after being remixed by Wagon Cookin, Patchworks or Bears in the Wood (Tru Thoughts/TM Juke), mixed and playlisted by Nicola Conte, Zero Db, Gilles Peterson, Massive Attack Dj's, Rainer Trüby, Jazzanova and many others over the world.
Fred aka Dj Spider is presenting now his new project «Colorblind All Stars», introducing the rapper/singer Sena (Budapest/Ghana). He produced a sublime package that mixes elements of hip-hop, nu-jazz/soul, house, broken beat to drum'n'bass: «Ordinary Culture Bound», 6 different remixes and one instrumental. You cannot afford to miss out on this monster of a single!!
1 - Ordinary Culture Bound feat. Sena & Ghost Notes (Original) : Rap & poetry by the very talentous "Sena" from Budapest, she's got a voice you could compare to the best nu-soul divas like Laureen Hill or Erika Badu. She recorded last year 6 tracks for Dj Vadim (Ninja Tune) and appeared on 2 tracks from the last Marcel's album (Good Looking). Ordinary Culture Bound, in a Tribe Called Quest mood, was originally made by a fresh artist from Strasbourg, known as «Ghost Notes». www.myspace.com/colorblindallstars
2 - Ordinary Culture Bound (Steppah Huntah Remix) : The story of Steppah Huntah is the story of two musicians - Steven J, a bass player and Oless-t, a pianist, and a chance meeting at a Strasbourg jazz club one autumn evening in 2002. The duo were soon inspired to work together to fuse their love for jazz, afrobeat & funk in the service of a new driven sound, powered by the seemingly endless possibilities offered by new computer technology. They had already an underground success for their wicked 12 inches for Soultronik and Compost records (including the monster Bugz “Seiji's” in the Attic remix). Their first album is coming soon. A jazzy broken beat, exciting keyboards and a hard step bass line make of this remix a killer dancefloor's tune! www.myspace.com/steppahhuntah
3 - Ordinary Culture Bound (Barna Soundmachine Remix) : Well known for his funk re-edits on the label Blindtest (revues on Giant Step, Rrault or Trax) or his SolidSteel Radio shows, this talentous artist from Barcelona is delivering a wicked abstract hip-hop remix, with a heavy bassline and mad scratches, you could compare to the best Ninja Tune's tracks!

4 - Ordinary Culture Bound (Dwight Fried Remix) :Dwight Friedis a solo project from the Catalonian/Barcelona producer Jordi Saludes, mainly based on micro sampling techniques and edited breaks. Collecting sounds from everywhere and re-ensambling again, Dwight Fried's deconstruction theory it's about to groove and electronic dancefloor oriented music with an experimental side that stay away of any mainstream from of art. On this remix, you can feel a certain Herbert's or Akufen's touch! Actually working on his album "In Cut We Trust”, he already has remixed for artist such as L&L, Isla Zebra or Iris.

5 - Ordinary Culture Bound (Teddy G Remix) : Originally on Rotax and now on Jazz Up Rec.Teddy G (Marseille), did some very deep house track compiled by Cafe Del Mar or Hotel Coste. He goes directly to the deep broken beat vibe, including his usual touch as a Fender Rhodes and slapping basses, a remix very sensual and groovy. http://www.myspace.com/teddygakapapastomp
6 - Ordinary Culture Bound (Allied Force Remix) : Allied Force is a project formed by Yolanda Benitez aka Yolanda MC, William Courtice aka Daquan and Jordi Saludes aka Alien Kid, and focused on the soulful side of Drum'n'Bass. With their first two releases in 2004 "Love Is..." / "Pimp Stash" and "Gather Round" / "Boomba", they caught the attention of many of the D'n'B top dj's including Fabio, LTJ Bukem, Flight, Bailey, Friction, Peshay, Patife and many others. "Summer Madness" / "Highly Strung", got brilliant reviews on Knowledge, DJ and Source magazines, as another step on their way to blend jazz-funk vibes with rolling beats, and their new release "Clinical"/"Mi Corazon" it's pushing them as one of the new talents on the D&B scene. www.myspace.com/alliedforcednb
7 - Ordinary Culture Bound (Sadako Remix) : Sadako Experience is another solo project from the producer Jordi Saludes, witch takes the vibe of the old jazz records, playing or programming drums, double bass, Rhodes pianos, guitar, vibes and all sort of wind instruments, to make a progressive and groovy sound, with an atmospheric background full of strings and orchestral sounds. If you like 4 Hero's mood, you won't be in rest.
Without any release at the moment, he made remixes for artists like Transporteraum, Slow Bullets and Isla Zebra. www.myspace.com/sadakoexperience
9 - One more reason (Barbena & Ashton Remix) : With a massive dubstep beat and subass, it's killing !!!

From Jazz & nu-jazz, electro-latin-hip-hop, drum'n'bass, break and broken beat, the label is very eclectic.
The label manager, Fred Spider, is one of the most active dj & producer in the french underground scene since 1984.
From Tokyo to London, Mexico City or Chicago, the sound " Plein Gaz " seduces !

The Jivers is a composition/production duo composed of Fred Spider and Don Pascal (both born in France). Fred & Pascal met in Barcelona in 2007. The two of them are record collectors and DJs, with a large spectrum of musical genres in their bags : Jazz, Nu Jazz, Soul, Funk, Broken Beat, Brazil, Salsa, Hip-Hop, House, Reggae... as long as its good and soulful ! The first production of The Jivers is a clubby Jazz hit ("Do What" featuring Anqui) released June 26th 2009 (vinyl EP) and July 2nd (digital) on the Jazz & Milk label based in Munich. Jazz & Milk Breaks 3 full CD available in october 2009.
Originally born in Lyon (France), Fred Spider became addicted to music after having listened to the jazz organist "Jimmy Smith".
From then on he always has been an active member of the huge family of music and started djaying in 1984, where he created his first band and played in the so-called fashion and "Mods" parties.
Whereas a lot of musicians specialize themselves in a unique style music, which could be sometimes restrictive, Fred Spider turned himself to an eclectic style. He took his inspiration from polymorphous beats and dancing grooves, trying to spread his well known good mood on the dancefloor (Jazz, 50's R'n'B, rare soul, deep funk, brazilian beats, latin kicks, deep house, soulful drum'n'bass, breaks and broken beats, nu-jazz..).
He created his first label "Rotax" in 1997 and "Plein Gaz Productions" in 1998 and started to produce a lot of varied-style artists going from nu-jazz to break, broken beat, with some other releases of hip-hop or drum'n'bass (14 issues). He produces as well his own band called "Colorblind" (6 musicians), which is a "colorfull" ambitious project melting together electronic sounds with organic grooves. He created others labels like "2Siders" or "Blindtest".
Moreover, Fred has also woven his spider web worldwide and played in different countries such as Usa * Japan * China * South Africa * Uk * France * Italy * Turkey * Switzerland * Scotland * Argentina * Germany * Austria * Holland * Sweden * Hungary * Spain * Portugal * Mauritius Island * Reunion Island * Slovaquia
