Books, film, art, the great outdoors, spirituality, human psychology, yoga, weight-lifting, young adult literature, coffee, Wicca (I've researched it for my books), popular culture, smart people who have unique points of view, music, travel, friends, family and my sweet, sweet honey (he's sometimes my muse and never fails to inspire me)
Music
I never get sick of hearing of hearing new kinds of music. Along with books and films, there are way too many favorites to name. I had the pleasure of working in an indie record shop for two years; I was in heaven.
Movies
Way too many to name. Here's a short list of movie's I love, but I'm only scratching the surface: Chocolat, Memoirs of a Geisha, all X-Men movies, Swimming Pool, everything by Kevin Smith(with the exception of Vulgar the Clown), Streetcar Named Desire, Match Point, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Pirates, Zoolander, Like Water for Chocolate, most of Quentin Tarentino's films, Good Fellas, Cameron Crowe's films (Almost Famous ect.), Ghostworld, Sin City, Requiem for a Dream, Sixth Sense, anything with Johnny Depp (not 21 Jump Street or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory eww...), Big Fish...this list could go on forever.
Television
I'm all about the Daily Show. I just bought a season of Veronica Mars. My boyfriend and I are watching the dvd's of Smallville these days. I also just got Firefly. I know I'm out of the demographic but I love Buffy. I love Weeds!
Books
Adult Fiction: The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, White Oleander, Scar Tissue (the memoir of Anthony Keidis, Wuthering Heights, anything by Anais Nin, anything by Charels de Lint, The Bell Jar, To Kill a Mockingbird, Lolita. This list could go on forever...
YA Books:Twilight is amazing. A Great and Terrible Beauty, anything by Francesca Lia Block, anything by Holly Black, Shrimp, Blood and Chocolate, The Earth My Butt and other Round Things, this is another list that could go on forever.
About me: I'm a writer with a couple of complete manuscripts. I'm in the transition from being a person who stays at home and writes to a person who is becoming active in the children's writing community. I write for pre-teens and teenagers.
As you might have noticed I also review YA books and interview authors. Please get in touch if you're interested.
Who I'd like to meet: I would like to meet like-minded writers and artists. I'm looking for other members of SCBWI. I love talking to authors, librarians and other people involved in teen literature.
