    BIO[ENGLISH] Pollyanna is an indie-folk band from Paris, singing in English. Their second album, On Concrete, has been released in Germany (Songs & Whispers/Cargo) in june 2010. A beautiful female voice, a crafty songwriting, bittersweet lyrics and luminous arrangements (light drums, ukulele, cello…) make it reminiscent of Laura Veirs, Smog, PJ Harvey or Calexico. Pollyanna's music is both rooted in traditionnal folk (not only American !) and indie rock : they love wood and electricity. The band has performed some 200 shows in various places in France, elsewhere in Europe (Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark and Switzerland) and in New-York (Sidewalk Café, Pete's Candy Store…). Pollyanna also proudly supported great acts in beautiful venues (Françoiz Breut, Julie Doiron, Wilco, Bright Eyes, Nouvelle Vague, Alela Diane…). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BIO[FRANCAIS] En deux albums et 200 concerts en France et à l'étranger, Pollyanna, projet indie-folk construit autour des compositions d'Isabelle Casier (chant/guitares), s'est imposé comme l'une des valeurs sûres de la nouvelle scène anglophone française. ....Un son électro-acoustique qui évoque autant les grandes dames de la folk qu'une culture résolument rock, perçant au gré des résurgences électriques de On Concrete, leur deuxième album. ....L'anglais, langue d'Hollywood, du tourisme et des affaires, est pour Pollyanna celle du voyage et du refrain qu'on se fredonne à soi-même, à la fois intime et véhiculaire. Une langue qui a permis à Pollyanna de s'exporter. On Concrete sort en juin 2010 en Allemagne sur le label brêmois Songs & Whispers (distribution Cargo Records/Zebralution).
